Our F1b Labradoodle and new pup!

We are relatively inactive on this site, but I wanted to write to let everyone know that our dog did not end up being 100+lbs; we were worried! Many people on here swore to me she would end up enormous! I was sweating LOL She was gaining 10lbs a month until 5 months, but she ended up only being about 70ish *shrugs*. She is delightful, and we adore her :) She is very leggy as many doodles are! 

In addition to our labradoodle, Hattie. We now have a new addition, Niklaus. Klaus is a cocker spaniel poodle mix or a cockapoo as many people call them. If you ask me, not calling this mix a cockadoodle was a missed opportunity, but I digress. He is very interesting to look at! He is heterochromatic with one blue eye and one brown eye. He is docked and appears mostly as a non shedding cocker. He is also kind of a bigger puppy than you might expect. He is 8lbs and about 9 weeks which I feel is quite large for a projected adult weight of about 20-30#s, in my opinion. Any guesses on how big he will get? His poodle half is miniature poodle.

Hattie is the one having the most fun! She has adopted him and is mothering/playing with him. Best of all, since he had an inguinal hernia, we had it repaired and he was neutered then too, so I'm hopeful that he won't develop any bad 'boy' habits :D

I'm glad the dogs get along so well. Nicklaus is an adorable pup but I have no idea how big he will get.

Congrats on your new addition! Very cute! Tara is 20 pounds as an adult. She weighed about 5 lbs at 9 weeks but it's really hard to know how their growth pattern will emerge.  If he is a multi-gen cockadoodle the size of his parents might be useful info.

Wow--what a cutie he is! Now, you have to explain that haircut Hattie has--it is most unusual! Is that something you like the look of or is it the way doodles are groomed in your area? Just curious as I have never seen a haircut quite like it.

I agree that cockadoodle would have been a great name!

No, no people in our area groom doodles normally! This clip was an attempt at the standard poodle bikini cut gone horridly wrong! She grew her hair back, haha! It was very nice to have a clean face like the poodle nothing got caught in her beard and no eye goop etc
