Just thought I would let you all know that Hoka did more then fine on his adventure at doggie boarding/doggie daycare over the weekend.  He and Moxie stayed from Wednesday morning until Monday dinner-time.

Each time I called to check-in (daily), they pretty much laughed and said Hoka was having great fun.  I think he is essentially mayor of doggie playhouse now.

He actually looks depressed to be home today... completely bored!

I know they were honest about it, because they let me know Moxie (my little doxie-terrier mix) was not as happy, but seemed to survive unscathed.

Also note the very cute summer cut they gave him while he was there:

That's good news, we haven't boarded our guys yet (6 & 7 month olds), I think I would be a nervous wreck, we're planning a summer vacation where we can take them with us but I know the day will come when we have to board them, I will surely be the one having separation anxiety when that happens!!
I am glad they were honest and that they did okay!!!!

Glad to hear that Hoka did well with his first boarding adventure!

It is funny, because I am an ICU nurse... so I am totally used to nervous calls and talking nervous people down.

I swear they were doing this to me!  LOL

But I was glad they they seemed honest about Moxie being not quite as happy.  I would have be suspicious otherwise, as it seems like how she would react.  She spent some time in The Big House (dog shelter) and knows the score, while Hoka is really confident and bold having no bad past experiences.

I bet that's the case!  Maybe Moxie will be better if they go again since now she knows you will be back!

Glad to hear he did well. Whenever we send Peri for boarding or daycare and a groom (where she plays ALL day), she comes back worn out - and seems a little blue :)

Always traumatic, glad to hear it went well.  We have a new sitter coming for the girls at the end of the month and she thought it a bit humorous that we expect her here to meet the girls a few days before we actually leave them with her...

I'm glad they did well with their vacation!  I dog sat from Thursday - Sunday. Duchess, a very large rottie mix was a good girl, but we knew she was looking out the window for her daddy and mommy!!  So yes, they miss us, but they do survive!

Im glad to hear everything went well for all of you.

I'm glad it went well!

So far, we haven't left our doods with anyone. Typically, when we leave now, we go in the Motorhome and take them with us. We have left the dachshunds in the past. (They are much older and have been around during my professional years when I had to be away at conferences, etc where little critters couldn't go). We are very fortunate, though, that the vet tech that works for our vet is also our house/pet sitter. All of our pups love her to pieces!

I am so spoiled to have an arrangement with friends, but I am glad to see that everything was fine.  If anything, I think I will bring Hoka back for their Saturday only day camps for fun.  He for sure had a ball.

It will be a nice option if my husband and I want to stay one night in the city, etc. I hate to impose on our friends too much.  They just have one dog, and we have 2-3 at any given time. It is not quite an even arrangement!
