I just wanted to share with everyone that our GRAD (Greater Richmond Area Doodles) walk at Stoney Point mall was a blast and a big hit. I couldn't have been more proud of our "babies" and the group. The group accomplished exactly what I had dreamed the it would be, promoting our doodles in a positive light! A walk that would have taking the average person maybe 10 minutes took us well over an hour and not because we were slow but because we were stopped so many times to be asked about all our little doods. I heard so many great compliments. We found many other doodle owners including our newest member Rebecca with Rudy Doodiani who just happened to be there. But the best part of all... we educated people about our doodles. As I have said many times before it's not about increasing the popularity but about educating. And showing our doodle pride...of course!

All in all the 2 hour event was a huge smash. Thank you to Deborah for getting this going and thank you for the great treats you provided from Three Dogs Bakery.

I can't wait to do it again and I can wait to see pictures from the group....please!

Any picutes of Abby playing in the pop-up fountain???

How fun Belinda! I can't wait to see pics =) Was this an outdoor mall?

I have been procrastinating holding a romp because I don't REALLY want to hold it in our new dog park. Too many factors are out of my control - with my luck I'd plan it for the worst time. So far Rosco has been attacked 4 times by various dogs (including 2 goldendoodles who ganged up on him. And Rosco is NOT a wimp!)
Oh my... I am so sorry to hear that. I have a hard time thinking that big Rosco could ever let any dog get the best of him. I am with you that dog parks can be a little sketchy for events. Yes, this was an outdoor mall and it was a beautiful day. There were lots of other dogs there as well it is one of our more popular dog friendly places.
Oh and I lost track of how many times we said "doodlekisses.com" to the people that we chatted with along the way! Next time I am going to print out more flyers!
Did you all just decide to meet up there? Or did you have to clear it through the mall management. To bad I had to work yesterday. It would have been fun to bring Gus and Lilly and drive down for the day. Are any of the stores pet friendly? This sounds like something we could try and organize up here in Old Town Alexandria. Most of the stores there are pet friendly. Not just pet stores.
Yup, it was a blast! A big thanks to Belinda and Deborah for everything!! The weather was gorgeous - we couldn't have asked for a better day. I love seeing all the dudes together - one doodle is awesome, but 12-13 together is AMAZING!!! I think people were just blown away by their beauty!! Can't wait to see pictures... Also can't wait to see if we get any new visitors - I know I, too mentioned doodlekisses.com at least 5-6 times...
Me, too, Lynn. I had one lady from NC writing down the DK web site. Said as soon as she gets home, she's gonna look us up! Several people were just so impressed with all of our babies and how well behaved and beautiful they are, even down to the nice red scarves Belinda made for everyone!! And one lady wrote down the web site for the breeder where Morgan, Maddie, and Stella were born. So it was a good day - in many ways!
Way to represent!!! I wish I could have seen the parade =)
I've got a bunch of photos so as soon as I can get a chance, I will try to create a slide show and post it so all can see!!
Great pics! They all look so polite and beautiful =)
I have just added a slide show to the Greater Richmond Area Doodles Group - Check it out!
Congrats!! that is wonderful!!
