My poor Hudson has had 2 bouts of pancreatitis. The vet believes that he just can't handle the higher fat diet (which puppy food is). So, after the last one, she suggested I switch to adult food, slowly of course. Right now, he's about 1/2 puppy, 1/2 adult. We don't feed treats hardly at all, not even one a day. He has bully sticks occasionally, but he has a very dog healthy diet. He's eating Blue Buffalo Wilderness. He's never eaten people food, which pancreatitis can also come from. He finished his last meds for pancreatitis last week. Yesterday, diarrhea started again and continues today.

At first, I thought he was just nervous from being at the groomer's all day on Tuesday. But when it continued today, I knew he was really sick. I feel so bad for my little guy. We are heading to the vet this morning, and I am frustrated with having the same expenses for the same issues.

Has anyone's doodles had this? Any other cures/suggestions? He had two accidents on the floor during the night...and this never happens. He just looked at me like "I'm so sorry". It's the saddest thing to watch him be sick again. He acts pretty normal but continues to have diarrhea. Any advice? Thank you!!

Cantaloupe is good, too, and many dogs like it. A lot of dogs love bananas as well.

When Guinness had Pancreatitis the Vet told me it would take a few weeks for his blood to test at normal levels.  I wanted her to retest for my own peace of mind, but she refused for that reason.  Can you try to supplement the Wellness with a little low fat home cooking....maybe some plain chicken and veggies added.  Mixing that with the food will lower the fat percentage of his total meal.  I sometimes do this with Honest Kitchen for Guinness...I mix it half and half with plain skinless white meat chicken and some carrots or beans, which cuts the fat content of that meal down well below the 10% tolerance.

What levels are about the same? I would guess your talking about pancreatic enzyme levels. I would give him some more time on what he's on but I am not a vet.

Do you happen to know which ones? Some take longer to clear than others.

It's OK. I'd just watch for now and make sure Hudson gets no food other than his own.

You might want to check with your groomer and see if they gave poor Hudson any treats while he was there.  This has happened to us a few times with disastrous results!
