Part Dog/ Part Ostrich

A while ago I posted that when Darwin gets really excited, he jumps on the couch and buries his face in the cushions like an Ostrich. It was suggested that I capture this on video. Well, I don't have a video camera and even if I did, every time I try to pull out a camera he won't do it! Of course. 

Well this time I was sneaky and captured 3 photos without him seeing. They are pretty bad quality but you will get the idea. His head is usually deeper into the cushions than it is in the photos... maybe he did sense the camera lens on him. :-) 

He has two styles, the half on couch, bury his head into you AND the couch style. I can't say I love this one because his beard always seems to be wet when he does it. Ick. 

And the true Ostrich fashion:

He then usually runs around rubbing his face on you, and the couch, sneezing like crazy. Anyone else have a dog that does this? Does your dog sneeze when he's excited?

Hahaha. This is great. Yes, my guys rub their faces all over everything when they're excited (or just dirty)...but they rarely sneeze.

Allie sneezes when she rubs herself on the couch. This is usually after she has been outside in the rain. She does not like feeling wet!! Too cute pictures. Allie does the half on the couch half off too. I think it is tooo cute.

Very cute. Harlow doesn't bury her head, but she does rub it up and down on the wall as she is coming down the stairs.

Darwin is such a funny guy! Cute pics! Banjo likes to get "behind" the loose back cushions on the couch. As a result it usually looks demolished.....no neat cushions here!

That silly little ostrich - these pics. are hilarious!

Pocket also rubs his face in the ground when he gets excited, but he doesn't pull an ostrich into the couch. One of his favorite lounging positions is half on and half off of the couch &/or ottoman though, or half on the couch half hanging over the back of it.

Darwin is adorable no matter what he's doing! Even when you can't see his face, lol!
My poodle used to do this, complete with the sneezing...it's like a weird manifestation of the zoomies, if that makes sense to anyone. Comes out of nowhere the same way, and they're always very satisfied with themselves when it's over.

My Girl Kiwi buries head on us and climbs half way on couch and is always trying to sneak on the couch ;).
