Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I have an almost 1 year old golden doodle. She has urinated in her sleep twice now in the past several weeks. She has been laying in the kitchen and woken up in a puddle of urine. She is healthy otherwise. No problems with eating or playing normally. Has anyone else had this with their dogs? Any ideas? Thanks!

I agree, get her checked for a UTI.
Thanks for the reply. I will have her checked for a UTI.
Yes, a Vet check is definitely in order. You can just take a sample in you shouldn't even need an appointment. While our first thoughts when this happens is UTI, there are many things that this can signal.
I had a lab that did this, turned out it was because she was spayed to soon, ended up on Detrol for dogs, poor thing always looked embarrassed when she woke up, Good Luck
My girl did this once (at 1 yr old) when she had been at the dog park for hours and had run like crazy and consumed lots of water.....then... when we got home she fell so sound asleep she had the accident (on the couch!). No UTI in her case at the time. We learned to make sure to wake her up and take her out to pee if she is sleeping like that after a very active play session and of course to make sure she pees when we get home as well. It never happened again.
Hope it is this simple for you!
Thanks everyone! Claire went to the vet and she put her on an antibiotic. She did have a few white cells and red cells in her urine but urine otherwise looked ok. She also started her on a low dose hormone replacement therapy thinking this may be related to a low hormone issue. Started a very small dose with instructions to taper dose down. She did have another accident while sleeping in the garage yesterday while we were in there working. Hope this is the answer to Claires problem!
That worked for mine, she was on replacement the rest of her life and never had problems again.
Hope she is ok!
