This picture was in my local paper today. Caption: People Do The Darndest Things For Their Pets

Michael Antoniotti strapped his Jack Russell terrier's cage to a wagon and took him for a walk following leg surgery. Dodger was confined to a cage for six weeks after having his cruciate ligament repaired. Antoniotti said he did it because he didn't want the dog to get bored. A neighbor snapped the photo proving that we actually do crazy things for our pets. (Photo courtesy of Ed Kowalewski of Norton)

I think many of us here on DK would do this and even more.

Many of you know, I get my dogs their very own Couch,  which has recently shown up around here again.   My husband makes all the treats in the house. etc etc  Come on, be  honest.  We promise not to make fun of you  ( wink wink)

What have you done that would get you a caption:  People Do The Darndest Things For Their Pets

That is a very high bed! I'll bet Monty appreciates his cubes! Great idea! Yep, that qualifies!

Halas has steps to the bed, too.

The steps are awsome.

That is so sweet that Mr. Antoniotti took his little dog for a ride on the wagon!  It's nice to see people doing kind things with animals! :)

He should be an honorable DK-er. :-)

I think Mr Antoniotti seems perfectly normal to me.  My Riley certainly has 'the life of Riley' though I don't think he is spoiled.  He gets good quality boiled minced meat or yoghurt with his kibble every day.  He gets two boiled marrow bones from the local butcher that I cook for him every week.  I make liver drop treats for training.  He has a morning and an evening snuggle on the bed and sleeps on his own memory foam bed.  He is never left for long and a petsitter or family member looks after him if we have to leave him.  He has a big toy box and also a drawer full of collars and leashes plus two raincoats.  Special paw protectors for the cold weather.   His grooming tools that I use on him are the very best as is his shampoo and conditioner.... the list goes on and on.  To a regular DKer it all seems perfectly normal so I can't honestly say that I have anything that comes under the 'Darndest Things for Pets' catagory

BTW I do love those steps that Tara has so she can look out the window of her own Doodle room.

Thanks Nicky! I sounds like Riley is a VERY well cared for doodle! :)

If you go from my room, through the bathroom, you come to the Doodle bedroom....sick!

I love it! How is life with two, Linda? Still can't decide if we should have an addition.

I LOVE having two.  The only downside for me is that it isn't as easy to pop one in the car and go do errands that are dog friendly.  It just seems more complicated.  I do it anyway, but notice I am paying attention to whether they are behaving more than I did when it was just Webber.  Just takes some time.

Yeah, that is my problem. I take Monty with me everywhere I go. So I'm dreading a bit having two and either take them both somewhere or leave them both at the house. I think Monty would pout.

Linda, I can't take it seeing both of them together!  How cute!  LOVE their room!

Jarka - Funny how you are thinking how your 1st baby would react to getting another, like he wouldn't get enough attention or something!  And in our case, we are getting another so that Bexter won't be alone when we leave!

UGH!  These dogs are our children!!!!
