Please help me with advice as I adopt this rescue.

I have a happy annoucement.  We are about to be the new parents of a male baby goldendoodle.  This all happened within the last 5 hours and we just got the phone call.  This is a rescue situation, very sad and our new little guy is only 7 weeks old, too young to be away from his mommy.  I need all the advice I can get.  I'll leave very early Monday for the drive to Atlanta to adopt Crosby, Stills or Nash.  I must not put Rooney in harms way till I find out the medical condition of our new puppy.  Rooney will go to our dog sitters till I get our new little guy and get him to our vet.  Please please please say a prayer that our new little guy is healthy.  I'll be in Atlanta (thank goodness my daughter lives there) Monday and Tuesday evening.  Wednesday and Thursday I have to stop in Ocala and I am looking for a good vet there to start the check up.  I had already planned to be there for a nephews graduation and I can't get out of that now.  Does anyone know of a good vet in the Ocala area?  This has happended so fast, yes we were on the wait list for a puppy from our breeder but my heart goes out to these puppies - they need us more than we need them.  Our paws are crossed.  I'm scared, excited and nervous.

I had to join the group Where's the Poodle in my Doodle - ha ha because these little guys are going to be very Retriever looking with only 1/4 poodle.  Is there any chance it will have a shaggy doodle coat?  I'll love it anyway but just asking.

Oh, there's absolutely a chance they'll have shaggy doodle coats; maybe even wavy. I think some of them might look like Jackdoodle. The older litter does.

In that "Little Explorer" litter we had recently, which was the same 3/4 retriever combination, there were a few who were actually curly. These puppies look less "retriervish" to me to begin with.

And we already know you're going to love him no matter what!

Congratulations!  Check out Murphy's baby pictures, Jane.  He looked VERY similar to Stills.  He was 7 weeks here.

He does look a bit like Murphy!!!!  Of course if I got to select first I would chose the most doodley looking one but you never know - the other two families might not know what to look for or perhaps they want a retriever looking puppy.  We'll get what we get but I'd love my puppy to grow up and look like Murphy!!!!

Thanks Jane. Murphy only had the tiny bit of curl on his ears.  I THOUGHT I wanted a pup that looked like a golden with the straight hair. Little did I know.

I can't find where I read this but in the area where you were asking for other things to bring for the puppy, how about something that smells like Rooney and your cat. ( sorry I can't remember his name right now) This way the puppy will be used to the smell of  his other brothers?

I forgot we did that when we picked up Pepper.  It is a very good idea.  Only it would be even better for the

at home pets, Rooney and cat if they could have something that smelled like the new puppy!  : )

Great idea Jennifer - I'm taking Rooney's Snuggle Puppy with its heartbeat thing with and I'm sure it smells like Rooney.  Out of luck with the kitty cat.  This is so exciting and I'm glad that you are excited with us!!

Jane --- Have you told them Stills is your favorite?  If one of the others was having trouble deciding, they might be able to tell them your preference and that might help them decide?  Or if it didn't matter to one of the others it might help you get Stills ...... can't hurt!

I have expressed the fact that I feel in love with Stills photo - it was the first one of the three that I saw but in reality they are all cute so I'll just look at it that fate will give me the one that is meant for us!!!
