Poison Oak

Harpo has done it again.  He has poison oak (I think the sixth time this year).  We did the technu with warm wash cloth this evening and he loves having his belly rubbed with warm wash cloths, but poor guy.  At least I have not gotten it from him this year.  Maybe my resistance has improved, at least it is better than his.

Yowzers, poison oak, that sounds awful for a dog. Poor Harpo. Gosh, good luck and try Nancy's cure, it sure couldn't hurt !

Thought I would update everyone on Harpo's poison oak.  His belly and ears are cleared up now and only his eyes are still scabby.  I think that is because you cannot put Technu by his eyes.  It is a neutralizer and would irritate the eyes even more than the poison oak.  It seems the wrong season to be getting the poison oak, but I guess it is always around.  In the warm weather, the dogs like to lie down in the shade under the oak trees and that is where the poison oak grows so that is easy to explain.  But now?  I guess the oil is still on the stems and twigs that are all dried out.  He's doing fine and I guess his eyes don't itch because he is not scratching them.

I'm so glad you are seeing improvement in Harpo's poison oak, but the eyes... yikes! 

I got a spot of poison oak from the dogs this week. ARRGH! Found out DH was sure there wouldn't be any so ran the dogs near a creek.
