This gorgeous Poodle boy will be euthanized on Sunday, Father's Day if we cannot find him a foster home. His Doodle cell mate will be going to Foster Home tomorrow.

He is in Montreal, Canada.

Thank you for keeping the thousands of us informed. With all the members on doodlekisses and all of there friends, surely there is someone in that area who can help.
Here's an update. The Doodle was adopted today thanks to Shannon and IDOG. The person drove 12 hours from Nova Scotia to pick this cute Doodle up.
What about the standard poodle?
Hey Wendy, thanks for offering the truth in this matter. We were made aware of it on another forum a little earlier tonigtht. I do hope, for the sake of the new owner her 12 hour drive each way from Nova Scotia to Montreal.and back, and.maybe still underway, will have found her a happy and healthy Doodle dog/ One cannot beat the truth under any circumstance. Drama and possible fabrication is the last thing we need in Rescue. To those asking about the poodle, this was not a package deal offered by the shelter. Poodle rescues are the most active in the world, . As I understand ...both Idog and the DRC have a mission to Labradoodles, Goldendoodles. and Doodle mixes. As I did yesterday, how about others cross posting to Poodle rescues and friends and Poodle Breeders in Canada without deflecting the issue that this Doodle appears now to have a home or be in the back seat, on the way, and sight unseen..

In this economy and with so many left and abandoned animals in shelters here and in Canada, we cannot serve those out of our reach or our mission without losing sight of the corporate mission.. We stay the course and save one Doodle at a time. Most legitimate rescues in this country do not publlish the kind of information that was indicated here due to a number of privacy issues not the least of which is the dog's former owner or possible owner, criminal issues involved, and or the privacy rights of owners or adopters.. I am probably a minority of one to wish that Doodle Rescue not be allowed to be handled in such a public way as it is on DK up to and including the development of a "Group" dealing with rescue. Mitigating legal, social, and emoltional issues need to be discussed in the privacy of ongoing processes and procedures developed by the Rescue organization. itself on it's own site, and then only with the people directly involved. I see no faster way to be drawn into a legal battle than in discussing a certain dog in a certain place at a certain time that is available for adoption.. Broad based discussions as a part of a social, public forum, however, are most acceptable. DK is a great place, but the discussion of this Doodle dog IMHO, should not have been brought up and discussed here other than possibly indicating a Doodle in Danger with direct notification to one of the several Doodle rescue organizations..

And at that, rescues have resources all over the world that day in and day out recieve such notices and respond accordingly.I sincerely encourage Adina to withdraw the "Group'" devoted to 'Rescue' from this DK site. On behalf of the dog, on behalf of the former owner, and on behalf of a potential owner and a variety of other legal issues. Those interested in Rescue should sign up with a specific organization, breed or mixed breed group volunteer, work hard, and assist within that framework and those regulations under the laws existing in their particular geographic location at that specific time. What happened in this setting is akin to yelling "Fire" in a darkened movie theater. Thanks Wendy to be brave enough to come here and attempt to clarify a most mystifying situation as to which organization actually participated in the rescue of this dog.
I do not really understand what legal ramifications you are worried about. Nor do I really understand what information was discussed that is a problem. I also fail to see your analogy about "Fire" in a darkened movie theater. Surely saying a dog is in danger of being euthanized, if true, can only mobilize people to help, hardly like a stampede from a theater. I am not trying to be contentious. I merely am wondering if there are some ramifications about the posting and the group, of which I am not a member by the way, that I am missing?
This particular discussion is about a poodle, not a doodle.
Judy,

With all due respect I disagree with you ..that is if these are indeed your words and your beliefs....This post does not sound like the words of the Judy that I know ...They are however oddly reminiscent of "someone" else's philosophy.....

Whatever it takes to get the dogs to safety!......The forums are instrumental in facilitating rescue that's the bottom line!....I have yet to hear of a case where ANY legal action was taken against ANY rescue organization or rescuer in regards to disclosure or "procedure"....Quite frankly when it comes to saving dogs lives you know what you can do with your "procedures!".... ..

To imply that the person who posted this information (Adrianne Matzkin) was creating "drama" or acted inappropriately or was taking credit for a completely different dog's rescue is ludicrous! Adrianne spent many hours desperately trying to locate volunteers and/or other local rescue organizations willing to save these dogs from impending death. Kudos to Shannon for finding an adopter willing to drive 12 hours to save a dogs life. Her efforts do not diminish those of Adrianne's. No one cares who does the actual rescuing as long as the dogs are safe!

Now that I have had a chance to read your other posts on other forums I would like to express the following to you here in THIS public forum....

Kindly refrain from passive aggressively badmouthing others with your obvious innuendo in this and other public forums. It does not reflect well on you or on YOUR organization and it certainly does NOTHING to benefit the dogs that need our assistance...
For the record, I have contacted Shannon at IDOG for help when I thought they were in an area to help. Honestly, I didn't think they had contacts in Montreal which was silly on my part and I apologize to Shannon personally.

I have reached out to Poodle rescues for the dog in Montreal as well as one in CA. I got the specific info who to contact by Carolina Poodle Rescue - thanks Donna!!

I cannot believe that you wrote this, Judy! DK is a virtual family, a place to build relationships, learn from each other's experiences, with close to 6,400 members who just may someone who knows someone who could help. If I didn't ask for their help then shame on me!

There are so many who are new to the world of Doodles and cannot believe that there are so many in shelters and rescues (including ME who got Samantha from a pet store because of my ignorance, started fostering and then adopting Charli - all this knowledge I learned here in DK) who now have fostered for DRC and IDOG because of my stories, my asking, my postings, my begging, my private advice when asked and my shoulder to cry on when their foster goes to their forever home! These DKers are my friends and their postings about their fosters have brought DKers to IDOG and DRC in their offer to help whether it be fostering, pulling from a shelter, transport, donations or just a word of encouragment.

I wonder if you would have gone on like this if the DRC had a volunteer to drive 12 hours to pull the Doodle? You did not do IDOG any justice with this posting.

The bottom line, no one cares which organization pulled the Doodle - they just cared that he is SAFE!!

For the record, my first post was about the Doodle AND Poodle - posted on June 15th with more started with Updates as I learned them. Once the Doodle was safe, I started this one because the Poodle needed to be safe! Again, the word was out there for those to ask their friends all over if they knew someone who could help.

Adina and all my DK family, I apologize from the bottom of my heart that this discussion took this turn but I felt that I had to let everyone know my that my intentions are always for the safety of dog - doodle or poodle.
There are those who are ignorant as I am who have been enlightened from post like these. It has been a privileged to have learned so much about breeders, BYB, dogs in shelters, and all the work rescue volunteers are performing in public forums. Off subject I will omit all the other beneficial things that have helped me be a better dog owner. Before I came here... I thought I knew it all. Clearly, some still think they do.

It is posts like these that educate and gather the masses to move forward to get the job done, one dog at a time.

No, I don't and can't do much. I can not be a leader or donate a lot of time but I can be a small piece that contributes small amounts when the call goes out for help. We average members are the people who make a difference too. We learn here in these forums just how we can contribute. Many many here on DK have learned and contributed also.

A tacky comment here might be~~ " We are a doodle Army of One"

We all count. We all love dogs. We all want to help in big or small ways. Do what you can do, give what you can give. It does make a difference..

Adrianne helped and supported me with my foster.

No, I can not be leader of a shelter organization, but I did help ONE DOG. I think that counts.
Keep Posting Adrianne. We want to know.
Yay!
love this happy ending, I have been checking hourly.
Poodle was not adopted!
