So ... Lola and I are going to meet this little guy at his foster home to see if he might be a good addition to our pack.  Not sure why exactly but for whatever reason I just have a feeling about him.  Fortunately Lola doesn't have all that baggage and is a better judge of character.  What do people think???  Here is the link for his profile on Petfinder:  http://www.petfinder.com/petdetail/27183498

Karen, you just gave away my counter if they say no!  In all seriousness, though, they are a reputable rescue and I don't think they would conceal anything.

I like the part where you talk about "reviewing the footage"--like you're a referee. It's so sweet how well they seem to get along. I think you made an excellent choice!

They're having a blast!

He's adorable! Congrats. I love those eyes and ears. I agree that there may be some husky in there.

I was waiting to hear if you thought so, Les, since you had one.

I also agree that he seems younger than 5 months.

Jay,  I loved the video of Lola and her new friend!  Did you take him home with you??  He is just too cute!!

Gail, not yet. It was just a preliminary meeting at his foster home to see if it would be a good fit. Needless to say it went pretty well. Even the foster mom got choked up watching them play. She said the sweetest thing to me, something like thank you for letting me borrow your dog.

I have been waiting all day to hear the news. I hope it all works out. Loved the video.

:-)

He is adorable!

OMD! Be still my heart! What a character! That look....those eyes, those ears! Not sure why, but reminds me of a little tuffy in a Disney movie. Can't wait to hear what his name will be!

Thanks for being devil's advocate, Olga - appreciate it.  Of course all pups are cute and of course I am happy to save a pup - I'd like to save all them if I could.  But the reality is, as a practical matter I will not be able to have more than two dogs fore the foreseeable future ... so it is extremely important that I pick the right one.  Lola and I have a very special bond, she is very much my "heart dog" as they say.  It is critical to pick a dog that will build on that foundation and enhance it.  I don't think it really matters what the dog looks like or how big he or she is, but it is very important to me that the dog be active and healthy, and most importantly, that he has the right energy and will fit in to our little pack.  I have no way of knowing when that dog will come along or whether he will come from a rescue, a breeder or elsewhere - although obviously being able rescue a dog in need makes it that much sweeter.  I really think this might be our guy, but as you say, I need to sleep on it because I don't want to make a rash decision.

PS - I see you are in Highland Park?  Ironically, I just got home from there.  I was at my relatives' for "break the fast".
