Don't you just hate it when your doodle gets distracted while doing his doody?  I was just out in the front yard with my puppy.  He was three seconds into his squat with one little poop on the ground when the man across the street came out his front door to go to work and Mulligan was instantly distracted.  Now it's almost time to eat and Mulligan still needs to do his business.  Now he'll hold it until after breakfast.  And my neighbor next door... he's famous for calling Mulligan when he's out in the yard pooping.  SO annoying!!

He's so cute that your neighbor just can't resist! As Mulligan gets older he will get to the things of business first, he is just so excited about his world. Daisy use to do the same thing, she got over it once she learned there was nothing new.
This is true.  I just feel so bad for him that he's ending up holding it.  You're right...  he''ll learn soon enough.  The neighbor is in LOVE with Mulligan.  Can't blame him, I am too.  He's just got bad timing... ha!
Can you try going around to the side or back yard?  But even moving to a different spot might not help.  Rooney was in mid-poop the other a.m. when the neighbors yard sprinklers popped up and came to life.  Poop was over and he ran light a bat outta heck to the front door.  It was kinda funny.
When my guys were pups they would get distracted by something or each other.  I didn't mind so much except when I was in a hurry and had to get somewhere on time.  Then I would just holler, "Hurry up and poop!"  I don't know that it helped but it made me feel better!  Ha ha
Guinness is like that...if he hears or sees something, he'll just stop.  Not Murphy though, once he starts nothing deters him.

Poor little Mulligan too cute to poo!

Ha!
Funny!
Cooper does that too!   Sometimes it is frustrating if I am in a hurry and needing to leave to go somewhere.   He is usually pretty good about going "on command" though.   I can just show him a bag that I clean up his poop in and tell him to go, around his usual time of day and he will run around a little bit, find his spot and go!  Unless, he gets distracted by an unusual noise or the neighbor dog, etc.
We always joke that Achilless has Poop ADD. He can never focus if anything else is going on.
