Does your doodle do the propeller tail wag? I'm talking about a full circle wag...not the tick-tock motion.
It's Porter's most happy tail expression, and I don't see a lot of other dogs or doodles do it. I was wondering if it is specific to one of the breeds or just a personality quirk.
No, but I have seen dogs that do this and it's adorable! When Darwin gets really excited his whole butt wags. I think this is pretty common though. :-)
Jackdoodle does the helicopter wag- we call it "Whirl-a-tail"- but only when he's super-mega-happy & excited. It's usually when my DD gets home from work or a business trip.
Hmmm, so far I am thinking the goldendoodles are more likely to wag their butts and the labradoodles are more likely to do the propeller thing.
Both actions are soooooo cute.
Allyson...I have to say...that I agree with you!!
I've been "watching" Sasha very carefully since this post...and...She wiggles her butt...BUT...with a Force that I cannot believe!!!!
About the 1/2 propeller tail...I Totally Agree...
Not Only Does Her Entire Butt Move...and I mean Move Majorly!! Lol..
But...it does seem to not just go back and forth...but...in a propeller motion...
Much more...a Wiggley Butt...but...there is a Propeller motion going on...(smile)
This is my Sasha...my GoldenDoodle...
Wrong...my Gracie Doodle is a Goldendoodle and she has the propeller tail. It is amazing to watch because she has a gorgeous long plume tail that makes a huge circle. She also has the back and forth wag and then a very low wag.
Porter will sometimes do the circle wag when lying on his back, but not sleeping...that must be neat.
When Porter does the on-back version of the propeller, it is kinda weird and hilarious. The tip of his tail points almost straight up and it looks like he is tracing a circle on the ceiling.
Our hound/lab mix Keegan did this all the time! There was no other way for him! LOL It was very endearing. Gaston-Cramer will do it on occasion and but not even a thought that Rosie will ! LOL She's a side-to-side at warp speed kind of girl! :)
