Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I have proposed a doodle romp in the PA group, and have shared it with the Ohio and WV groups as well. I've had some interest in both PA and OH, but I'm posting this thread here to keep both state's conversations here, and to notify all of those who may be interested but not following the area groups.

I think this place would be a wonderful location,Lucky Paws

As per their website:

Outdoor Park

  • Double-gated entry, off-leash property
  • 3,000 square foot, zero-entry swimming pool and water park designed and maintained specifically for dogs (Pool is seasonal)
  • Slip-resistant surface at the entrance of the pool and special anti-microbial K9 Grass surrounds the entire area
  • The entire park is enclosed by a 6 ft. high fence
  • Water fountains for the dogs and humans
  • Large pavilion with picnic tables and park benches
  • Mountains, tunnels, and play equipment

Indoor Area

  • Connected to the outdoor park through the backyard play area
  • 3,500 sq ft indoor facility with EvoFlex seamless poured rubber flooring (1/2 inch thick, non-skid, sterile floor that is gentle on dogs' joints and paws)
  • Waterfall created just for dogs
  • Sound system and big screen TV

The location would work in rain or shine.

I suggested earlier June 11th, as that date is really the only one that would work for my schedule, another person could take over and suggest an alternate date. Or we can just make this an informal romp (i.e., only a few people come), and we can do a more organized larger one later in the summer.

I wanted to reserve the party room, but the Western PA Humane Society is actually "taking over" the property for most of the day on that Saturday. However, my suggestion was, that instead of changing the date, we could just join in on the WPHS fund raiser and take part in their activities (i.e., raffles, food, games, etc.). While we cant reserve the party room, the location is large enough that we could find a secluded area for our doodles to romp together, away from everyone else.

The fundraiser is only in the afternoon from 10-1pm, and the grounds are open for business form 9am to 7pm. If we wanted to go DURING the festivities and join in, we can go about noon, if we wanted to avoid that, we could go in early evening about 5 (and avoid the heat of the day, too).

If your interested please respond here and let me know, I'm also interested in feedback about the time. This will be my first doodle romp, so guidance and feedback planning are also welcome! ;-]

Bonne Bouche hopes to meet you soon!

Oh man- I would LOVE to go but Barkley won't have all of his shots yet :(
Wow!  This looks like a great place!  I think we are maybe 4-5 hrs away.  Will run this by my hubby to see what he thinks!!
Any news about the Doodle Romp?

It doesn't look like we can make it.  We are leaving on vacation the following week.  : (

I think a romp at this place would be soo much fun.  Maybe if someone wants to go in August we could attend.  I hope everyone has a blast!

If we get a larger group together we can do the rental in August. It would be fun ;-]
Hi Carla!!  I think it is a little far for us.. but would be there in a heartbeat if it were closer! Good luck!

I would be interested in going in the afternoon!  We live four hours away, so if we made it at about 3 or 4 we could have time to get back home in the same day.  Are more than doods allowed to come?

Who's goin to this?  Are we solid on a date/time yet?
You are my only confirmed "yes". I'm totally up for going whenever... so 3-4 would be fine for us. I'll call LP and see how they are doing entrance fees that day around the event. Waiting for others to confirm as well in the meantime...
Looks fun, but this is too far for us!  :(  Can't wait to see pics from the day though.
