Me again... This Tori-Girl is really causing me to fret. don't know what's wrong with her. Thought it was the corn last week when she seemed mopey, then she was groomed and her poor butt is so raw. so thought that was why she was lethargic yesterday... She seemed much better today, but has bouts of 'normalness' running and playing and then just plops down. She has had regular amount and consistency of poop, so don't think anything is there. But I am hoping the small pieces she got off of that dragon isn't causing any digestion issues. Tried to snoop in her poop (lol), but couldn't really tell. I read that if you give them a little canned pumpkin, it could help a poor stomach and even help to push a long any 'foreign matter'. But how much do you give? I let her lick about 2 spoon fulls off. Can it give her diarrhea, or cause constipation if she is having normal poops now? Thanks! AGAIN doodle friends!

That's a great idea about the canned sweet potato. I think I will do that too! Yes - it was pure pumpkin. Thanks also for telling me that sometimes foreign matter can irritate the stomach after it passes. Unfortunately, Tori is a menace with eating things she shouldn't. She really has gotten sooo much better! But still loves those napkins and paper towels tho'. From my posts, one would think we don't watch her and leave all sorts of things around for her to get, but we really don't she's just so good at sniffing out paper. A few months back (Nov), I posted a problem we had with her eating a teeny tiny screw that caused havoc with her! I should have called her DENNIS! (the menace)

Honestly if her BM's are normal now AND if she swallowed some of that dragon, it could take a few days before she either vomits or has loose movements. That doesn't mean though that her stomach isn't upset right now. Also, she is probably still sore from the grooming incident and when she runs around for awhile it hurts and she wants to go lie down. Tori is a Burkhart doodle and these dogs are smart as a whip so she is probably still peed off about that and wants to let you know and worry just to make you suffer!! Kidding ?? Seriously though, it is probably really bothering her, just a feeling that she doesn't understand and it is bugging her. I learned about pumkin here on DK and I give it to the TOM CAT (Thomas) often. Can't hurt. Hope Tori feels better now.
Hey. The trainers told me a while ago that when a dog gets really groomed that their personality could be effected for about up to a week. Maybe she is just uncomfortable, especially with her bottom having been shaved. It may feel "naked" to her andfunny so that she kind of plops down to stop the feeling. Poor Tori!
Just wanted to say...whatever is bothering you Tori, feel better soon...and stop worrying your mama!
Thanks everyone!!! I think you're all right. I'm so mad at the groomer right now. I can't believe she did this ESPECIALLY after I bragged about her and gave her a very generous gift for her new place! Tori was the last one there so maybe she didn't have the time to devote to the combing out the mats as she usually does???? But you are all probably right. She feels different and doesn't know how to handle it. Her chest was also cut really low...Well (Ali) maybe I should find another groomer??? I may just give her one more try, since this is the first time in about almost a year that this has happened. Can't wait for my Les Pooches brush! BTW ~ she LOVED the pumpkin. Would like to freeze some into tiny balls as treats, but may be too much of a good thing... THANKS AGAIN!!
On a separate note... my friend has a maltipoo. She called me and said her dog was rubbing her bottom on the rug..
"Ahhh" I said, probably her anal glands need to be expressed. WELL ~ She just called me. Seems her anal sacs burst and went right thru her bottom!!! She's on antibiotic and I think some cream too. Could you believe it! THESE DOGS! What ever happened to picking up a stray, feeding them table scraps and never bringing them to a vet????? But - they didn't love us like our dogs do today!!! Crazy - huh?!
Isn't that so unbelievably crazy?!!! We just got some paper work in the mail Saturday from ASPCA pet insurance. We definitely are going to get something. Don't know which yet... I know there has been discussions on about which is better. But I figure once we finally get something... Tori's incidences for ER care will stop LOL
I would give her another try. I know that I have heard that a lot of groomers will not comb out matts if they think it will hurt the dog. It was why they had to shave some of Sonny underneath him last time. Give her a chance. Tori may need to get groomed or at least combed out more often, especially if she is in water or snow. I can't imaigine what Sonny will be like this summer now that he loves water. Could be why people cut doodles so short in summer. But, I would definitely tell her you were unhappy, why don't you call her and tell her, and ask her why she shaved her. Then tell her never to do it again and what can you do to avoid it.
So what us this Les Pooches brush??? Is it a special dematting brush? I have a comb that is supposed to help and a brush that is good for long haired dog but no idea what it is called. Let me know what happens b/c you are my go to groomer person! Hope she feels better!
Thanks! Yeah. I will definitely tell her how bad she was these past days!! She SAID she was too matted to get it all out, but said she used a new razor top so it wouldn't pull. Maybe it was too new. She's so sensitive, my poor girl. She looks like we did after delivery -lol. I still am shocked that she shave her. She usually never does that... only on her belly or under her arms (legs). The les pooche brush is supposed to be great at brushing and dematting. Tell you about it in person. Lots to tell. Oh well.... such is a dog's life. Wish they could learn to talk! See you tomorrow!
