The DRC has been asked to assist in an Amish Puppy Mill surrender of approximately 35 dogs with a few doodles. Jeannine Smith, my daughter MarissaTait and I will be leaving 4:30am Saturday
for the 3 hour drive to Lancaster PA

I don't know any of the specifics as to why these 2 brothers are surrendering all these dogs but we are all grateful that they are!

Does anyone in the Lancaster, PA area know of a vet that is open Saturday mornings? We will be giving the doodles a capstar (for fleas) immediately but we would like to have them checked out by a vet and give them vaccines before they go to their foster homes.

Please keep all these dogs in your prayers that they have no real health issues that will affect them in finding their forever homes.

Thank you for the pictures. This is so awesome! They are true doodles, happy and playful. Nice to see that they are total messes.
Meant that they are NOT total messes. Geez.
How many we're rescued in all the agencies involved Adrianne?
Oh my.....how precious. The adult male is gorgeous....I wish I could kiss those noses.

Sue - I am not sure but I think 5 or 6. It was incredible how all the dogs were tagged for each rescue and who in which rescue was allowed to take them. There was no way any dog went to the right rescue - very impressive!!!

They are all beautiful but my heart belongs to "Daddy", he is gorgeous.

Thank you so much for all you do.

I am eating my heart out here myself, Lisa. It's a good thing this boy is so far away from me. Adrianne did a little impromptu scissoring; as if that nose wasn't enough, take a look at these eyes:

OMD! I want him!

Be still my beating heart!  What a beauty!

I can't wait to see him once he's cleaned up. I hope he's not so badly matted that he has to be shaved.

K - I cut a huge pile of mats. When Janet was at the groomer I had her put me on speaker. Groomer says shave everywhere and will try and keep some of his head. I say no - there is no reason his head couldn't be scissor cut and comb through the mats once you cut into them. I don't think the groomer liked me very much with that comment but I cut the big mats under his ears and I really don't think the ones on his head couldn't be combed out - yes, time and patience but he deserved her taking the time. I cut though the mats on his hind end and she might be able to make that somewhat even but I don't know. I didn't get a chance to do the front end. His looked like a lion with a choppy cut when I finished. He wasn't pretty but he surely felt to much better!!! I wish there was touch-a-vision for you to feel just how thick these mats were. As soon as I get pictures of him I will post.

OMD, and look at the color of it! Poor doodle!
