All,

I need some advice, my 11 week old puppy just threw up some kibble and just pooped a lot.  It was not diarrhea, but it was very soft.  He normally only poops two or three times a day and it is hard.

Any thoughts?

my puppy did that a few times... have u changed his food? maybe he ate too fast...that happened a few times for my puppy...he would eat too fast and throw up a few minutes later whole kibbles...

i have been mixing two kibbles together for some time now, on thursday he finished taking panacur.   he definitely did eat very fast, but would that explain the large amount of soft poop in one walk?

Was your puppy taking the Panacur for Giardia?

Yes

I am sorry your pup threw up. It is important with Giardia that you disinfect the yard  by spraying  any area where your pup's poop has made contact with a 10% bleach solution (1 part bleach, 9 parts water). Use rubber gloves if there's any chance you may come into contact with the poop, because Giardia can be transferred from dog to human. We had one member who followed behind her pup with a paper plate and caught the poop. (Yes, isn't this fun?) It seems like more and more puppies are getting Giardia and we have had a ton of discussions on this on DK and you can do a search for some of them. All your pup's bedding should be washed in hot water and you will need to clean him carefully after he poops. Also, make sure he is not drinking any standing water.  I am sure your vet will probably be re-testing since the meds. are now finished, but all of the above will help so your puppy doesn't become re-infested. Here is one recent discussion and it has some other suggestions.  Good luck!!
