Just wanted to check with everyone and see what they did with walking their pups.

My pup is 8 months old and we have been doing two walks a day. Our walks are generally 30-40 minutes each, once in the morning and once in the evening.

He gets two visits to the dog park each week too if that helps. He usually gets about 15-25 minutes of fun play at the dog park before I notice him slowing down and I get him out of there.

Am I overdoing it on his walks? He hasn't ever given me a sign that he's done (except at the dog park, lol).  He's 30 pounds and my vet thinks he's about topped out as far as size goes.

Thanks!

My dogs are almost 8 and 9 and we have always done two walks a day. We walk far longer in the cool temperatures and much less in the summer. I just pay attention to their body language. If they are lagging behind, panting a lot, or acting like they are getting tired, we go home. I don't think your schedule seems excessive!

This seems reasonable.  Walks are great, we skip them in extreme heat - burned paws, dehydration, not fun.  Not full out running with that size dog, but a good brisk walk with a couple of slow downs for sniffing is great.
