Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

I didn't want to start this discussion on Kari's about her experience and her loss of Ari.
I read what was written on what not to do. My question is about the raised bowls. Charli is 28" tall at her shoulder. For her to have a bowl on the floor she was to spread her front legs so wide it hurts me to watch her. The other 2 aren't as tall but for them to have their bowls on the floor doesn't make eating easy.
My doodles chew their food, will go over and get a little water and come back to finish their dinner

I appreciate your suggestions.

It's hard to say. Bloat is fairly rare in small dogs, and it's not an issue with miniature poodles; but in mixed breeds that have Labrador Retriever or Standard Poodles in the mix, I'm not sure anyone knows. There wouldn't be any studies or statistics.

The thing about statistics is they don't matter at all if your dog is the one. But I don't think you can't be overly paranoid either.

I just meant that the only way you can get an idea if your dog is at higher or lower risk is to find some data on it.

I know.

This is how Ozzy eats LOL. He takes his time and eats slow guess he really enjoys his food.

He looks so comfy. I'm surprised at how many of these guys eat laying down, really enjoying their meals.

I was just reading an article about administration of Hydrogen Peroxide to promote vomitting in dogs and came accross some disturbing comments that it can cause BLOAT.

Please be careful!!!

I would think anthing that creates a lot of gas in the stomach, and hydrogen peroxide can foam a lot, could do this.

Wouldn't pure hydrogen peroxide burn a dog's mouth, esophagus, and stomach?

I would think it depends on the strength. I know what they sell as an antiseptic is much lower percentage wise than hair bleach. I t is recommended to induce vomiting in those circumstances when you need to do that.

Thanks F.
