Quincy's road trip...

Happy to report that Quincy was amazing in the car on the almost 8 hour trip to Oswego for our son's graduation. We hit ridiculous traffic and the 6 hour ride got longer and longer. We put his big dog bed pillow on the back seat and on top of duffel backs wedged in the foot area, so he sat higher and even with us and he was so happy! We did attach his harness to the seatbelt and it was fine, he did not move around much anyway. The vent in the center console was also key- he had his nose to the cold air flow frequently so I made sure it was not blocked by his pillow. We stopped only once and he had a run around a pretty grassy rest stop. We would have stopped as much as he needed, but he was very happy to lie on his pillow just behind us in the back seat.

He took to the apartment fine and even with all the moving chaos and stuff all around, only got into one item-adhesive bug traps! my fault, I saw them and did not pick them up. we got them off without loosing too much beard! He also is not used to hallway noises and does bark when he hears neighbors at the elevator.

We left him for the ceremony, of course, and he did bark when we closed the door. He is not generally a barker. there is a dog down the hall though and that will set him off, too.

The DH left this morning, but I am still here, packing away, so the trip is not over, but, as the man who jumped off the Empire State was heard to say: "So far, so good".

Oswego has a lovely river walk which we have done a few times. We are off to do that now.

Great job Quincy. We love a road trip and Meg loves the vehicle, she would ride around all day long and never complain, I am so bummed that the weather is getting warmer and she can't go all day like she did before.
