I got a jump-start on my Christmas decorating this past weekend, because we have family in town next weekend and I have a busy work-work. I thought our newest doodle could be trusted as he hasn't been counter-surfing in months, but seems i was wrong. Raleigh confused two Buyer's Choice Dolls (translation: overpriced Christmas collectibles totaling $80 each) and ate the beard off the Santas. ( I am able to repari them, but to say I freaked out is an understatement as these are my favorite christmas decorations. He has also been eyeing a 3 foot Santa I have that sits on by our fireplace (way too large to put up on a shelf--as I have done with everything else "edible") We have an electric collar that can we use for our electric fence which can give a correction tone or a correction vibration. . I have used the tone near the large Santa, but he keeps eyeing him up. I hate to use the vibration as it can be uncomfortable, so I was wondering for some other ideas. He is sneaky, so it's when my back is turned that he makes his attack. Any ideas as to keep him safe and keep my Santas alive??
Put the Santa away for this Christmas. Just like with little children, you put up what is expensive or not easily replaced or special for that one year when they just don't understand.
Both Rosie and Maggie are wonderful quiet doodles who never bothered with the Christmas tree. I'm not so sure we will be that lucky with our new pup KoKo. She is so much more active and into things that I think I will invest in a new tree that can sit on a table. When I mentioned this to my grandkids they got upset that I wouldn't have the BIG tree but I think they will have to live with the fact at least for this year. KoKo is a handful and I don't want to put temptation right in front of her.
