I am interested in the Rapid Bath System and I checked out the past discussions on it, but didn't really get a feel for what everyone thought about it, so I am bring it up again. There were different people that were going to check it out or were going to seminars on grooming and would get back to us. Have any of you found out if it is really worth the money???? I now just use a hand held shower in my tub for Lucy, but it is time consuming now that I am leaving her coat grow out for winter and I am always afraid that I am not getting her rinsed well enough. I am going to jump in and try grooming her myself. I just ordered the Pedi Paws too and am going to try that out as I am petrified of cutting her nails.
Soooooooooo, please any more input on the Bath system would be appreciated.

I order the rapid bath system. I did not like it. In fact I returned it. I didn't think there was enough pressure. During the summer I bath outside on an grooming table. I use the water hose with the graden nozzle. So I decide to make my own inside bath system. I when to Home Depot and bought a replacement hose for an hand held shower, then I brought a diffuser and attached it to my shower head. It cost me about 25.00 and it works great for me. I like to use my own shampoo. If fact I was able to wash Charlie faster with it than the rapid bath. So guess it just wasn't for me!
I sort of did the same thing, but the hose is not long enough either and I have to keep making Lucy move more to the front of the tub to be able to reach her. I really do not get the water force out of it. Well, thanks for the input on the rapid bath system. It is alot of money for it not to work. That is what I was wanting to know. I wonder if there is a fitting to put on the end of the hand held to attach a garden hose nozzle on to??? Ummmm , a thought!

The rapid bath system comes with an attachment so you can hook it up to a graden hose. The first time I when to home depost I ask a very nice man to help me. I just happen to know that he likes dogs. I told him what I was trying to do and he was very helpful. He help me find a connecter for my hand held hose to attach my graden hose nozzle. Later is when I added the diffuser. The hose I bought will reach to back of the tub! Please post what you try. I'm always looking for a quicker bathing system.
Hi there. I use a system that is cheap and very easy to use. Darn it though I can't find it on my PC. So, I'll just have to tell you in my own words how you do it.
You need a hose and an Ortho Dial and Spray device - found in the gardening section of your hardware, etc store. I put diluted dog shampoo in it and then connect it to the outdoor hose. I dial the setting to where it comes out nice and soapy and just spray the dog all over. It gets right down to the skin. Then I let the shampoo sit on the dog to do it's work for a bit and then turn the setting to off so I can rinse him. This works great!! You don't have all the bending over, you don't have to stop and pick up the shampoo bottle over and over and you don't have to struggle to get an all over lather. I can use this outside much of the year here in Texas - works great!!
Found it!
Texas Bowser Blaster
With Spring upon us, many of us will be bathing our doodles. Well Leah and I have been lurking over in Groomerland, and I've certainly learned a lot. One of the best things I learned was how to purchase, assemble, and use the "Texas Bowser Blaster" (TBB).
What you need:
Some hose.
A way to attach your hose to either your sink or your shower.
A few quick connect/release hose adapters, one with a stop end.
A normal spray nozzle.
An ortho dial and spray.
Your favorite shampoo and conditioner.
(a tub, or outside...)
You may already have some of the above. I bought the Ortho for $10 and I needed a new hose, so I think my total expenses were around $35 at Home Depot. You don't have to use the ortho, there are other brands that will work. The important part is that the concentration needs to be adjustable. The stop end quick connect allows you to change from the TBB to the garden spray nozzle for rinsing WITHOUT turning off the water.
After you hook everything up, put a few ounces to 1/4 cup of shampoo into the TBB, and fill the remainder with water. Set the dial on the lowest setting, and turn it on, and regulate the temp. Adjust the concentration until you get just a little bit of bubbles. Get your doodle into the tub, and start. NO PRE-WETTING the dog!!! Start spraying at the bottom of the feet, and work your way up. Pretend you are "painting" the dog. It is important that you spray every square inch, because the spraying is what does the cleaning. You can "line spray" the body. The cool part is, the spray goes right down to the skin, and really cleans out the coat. You need to let the soap have time to actually work, so make sure the dog stays soapy for at least 5-10 minutes. Be sure to flip the little nozzle on the TBB upside down to get the belly, neck, and insides of legs. It takes a little while to get the angles right so that you aren't splashing yourself.
Pop off the TBB, and pop on the nozzle, and rinse. If you're using conditioner, mix that up in a similar way. Depending on what you're using, you can leave in the conditioner.
Benefits of the TBB:
Uses less water, no pre-wetting, and easy rinsing because low concentration of shampoo.
Uses less shampoo.
No scrubbing. Scrubbing can cause matts.
Cleans dog down to the roots, really penetrates the coat.
Can actually blast out some old dead undercoat and matts.
Fast!!!
OMGoodness, this sounds GRRREAT!!!!!!!!!!! My DH is a do it yourselfer and I'm sure he would be able to help me get this all put together. AND much cheaper that the rapid bath system that sounds like it really does not do the job after all. I would like to that all of you for your input and great ideas of what you are all doing. I will try, I think something like this last one because you can put the soap right in it. You ought to see the mess I have squirting soap all over Lucy and into my hands to do underneath everything. Thanks a bunch
hi everyone...lowes makes a contraption that you don't have to put together, or disassemble...i found it last year in the garden dept. in the hose nozzle section. it had a clear plastic container attached to the nozzle that you can put anything in....we not only use it to wash izzy when it is warm out, but we use it to wash the cars...lol it is awesome!! oh yea, we use it to feed the plants with miracle grow too ha ha ha
any way in the winter all you would need is a shorter connector hose and connect it to your bathroom sink....i would not know how to connect it to anything in the shower. but as long as you use a good washer in the sink spickit it shouldn't leak!! oh yes, many different spray options as well...and it was under $10.00
just an idea, if nothing else you know it can wash the cars, and it won't be a wast of $$$ ha ha
Boy what great ideas. Thank you all for your input. I will let you know what I rig up. Sorry it took me a couple of days to read all of these, we were at camp winterizing!!!!
