I am posting this for my daughter who is looking to rehome her 3 year old cockatoo "Tucker".   Tucker has food allergies and must be on a Prescription diet that costs $70/month.  She has contacted all the rescue organizations and has been turned away due to tuckers health problems.  He is as cute as can be, loves to cuddle and chase his ball.  They have a 1 1/2 year old child, a 6 year old cockatoo, car loans, school loans, mortgage----it keeps going.  I would take him, but have Harry and Ella, 85 lb bernedoodles. I was just down there (Dallas) for Xmas and can't tell you how cute he is. I will pay shipping.  If you know of anyone or have suggestions, I would appreciate your help

Jacquie - Who would my daughter contact for an evaluation?  Tucker is a cockapoo and the DRC site seems to have only "doodles".  Do they handle other poodle cross breeds?

Margaret - I am a volunteer with IDOG.  If you (or your daughter) have not spoken to Jo yet concerning Tucker, here is a link to our webpage concerning owner surrenders and our process for it.  http://idog.biz/OurSurrenderProcess.html   I am new to volunteering for them but I am sure that they will at a minimum give your daughter good advice and may even be able to help.  We have applications on file from quite a few people in the Dallas area for doodles, though I am not sure at this moment if there are any that could take a "special needs" dog.  I will need to look at that.  But talk to Jo and we can see what we can do to help.
