About Me:: WE moved to WI three years ago and love it. This will be my husbands last career stop before retiring and it feels good to be settled. Probably won't retire here but a beautiful part of the country.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: We have two "Bernedoodles", born 1/4/09 - Ella and Harry. Ella came at 9 weeks, Harry at 4 months. They are so different, but both have the Berner mellow disposition

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Intelligence and low shedding

Does your doodle(s) shed?: A little bit but nothing major

Long time since I last wrote. Our summer highlight was a trip "Up North" Wisconsin. We rented two cabins on a lake, grown-up children flew in. I was worried that Ella and Harry would run away with all the smells in the woods luring them. Everyone helped keep eyes on them and they never wandered far. Ella was a natural swimmer and loved retrieving sticks thrown in the water. She would gracefully swim back with no splashing. The puppies are doing great! It is so interesting so see their different personalities coming out. We are not sure who is the "boss" as it varies daily. Harry is much smaller and slighter built than Ella and she at times bullies him. He eventually decides he has had enough and gives a real growl and snip. "Harry" is here! It turns out that Henry never really was a pet, has been in outside kennel for the last 6 weeks. My husband, Dewey, hated the name Henry, so Harry it is. Transfered Harry in Peru, ILL - extremely dirty, smelled like a barn. Got home at 10:30 pm, Ella was veryyyyyy excited! Harry looks nothing like Ella - much more of a poodle body and very skinny right now. he promptly pooped on the rug of course. After a shower and shampoo with Dewey he didn't smell quite as bad . Today is the day! I am meeting the breeder in northern ill around 7pm tonight( they are on their way to NY). When we get home around midnight do you think he'll be ready to go in his kennel for the night - not! Plus, I am sure that Ella is going to be very excited. Your dogs look a lot like my girl, Starlit, who is supposedly a Labradoodle F2? But as a rescue, who knows what she is and where she came from. But right down to the tip of white on the tail, she does look like one of your dogs. Interesting.

She certainly does not have a lab personality as she is very protective and not friendly at all, except of course, to us, who she adores.

Sounds like you had a great time at the cabins. Do you mind sharing the name of the dog friendly accommodations? It is nice to know about places to vacation with the doodles.

Ella and Harry are adorable. I have long loved the Bernese Mountain Dog but because of allergies in the family they were not an option. The Bernadoodles are cute.
