Renaming my new doodle (?)

[Sherri, Sophie, Winston, & Kitty]

As per my blog post published last night (http://www.doodlekisses.com/profiles/blogs/welcome-home-winston), I've brough home a new doodle. He's 5 years old and He's sweet as can be, oh so affectionate and gentle. His name is Winston. I like the name, but i don't love it. I was thinking I might give him a new one to signify his fresh start. I sort of feel like the old name carries the baggage of his old life of neglect with it. It would be nice to give him a new name to signify his new life of love and happiness. However, I'm worried a new name will confuse him and will add more stress during this time of transition. He's already quite sad about what happened to him.

 

What do you guys think? New name or keep the old name? If new name, any thoughts or suggestions?

Congratulations, you have been busy! How about Winsome--Attractive or appealing in appearance or character--which sounds like Winston but really describes him : )

The name Winsome reminds me of a horrible puppy mill near me that thankfully closed recently after the death of the owner. The "bred" goldendoodles, labradoodles, whoodles, and rotties. I met some people with those dogs - most were either sick or terrified :(

It won't stress him at all to get a new 'name' -- dogs don't think of names in the same way that we do...so it will merely be another attention getting word he learns. Don't sweat it either way.

Apparantly I had set my privacy settings so only my friends could view my blog. I have fixed it now so everyone can see it, which means it will show up on the main page.
