Rescued Dog Bites NBC Anchor

Anyone else read this article today?  Thoughts?  I read this article and I really felt for the rescued dog.  This is a dog that had experienced a traumatic event the day before and was immediately thrown into another unfamiliar situation.  Now the dog is being held in quarantine for 10 days.  Obviously noone deserves to be bitten but I think so many things were done wrong.  http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/cutline/rescued-dog-bites-nbc-anchor-fa...

it also seemed as if there was this buzzing sound seconds before the dog bit. Dogs hearing is very different than ours. Way more sensitive. The buzzing (maybe from camera or microphone equipment) might have contributed.

I think Cesar made some very good points, and I agree, but I'm surprised that he included this story in an  article "Pitbulls in the News", since Max is not a Pit. It doesn't help the image of Pitbulls for people to believe he is. In my experience, most Pitbulls are a lot friendlier to people than Dogos, Presa Canarios, and many other "protection" breeds, including Dobermans. Pits may be fighting dogs, but they are generally not human aggressive, and are not commonly used for human protection, whereas the breeds like Dogos are.

All of these points about the ways in which people should and shouldn't approach strange dogs are very true and very important, but the fact remains that there are certain breeds who are more likely to react to human error by biting than others.
