Does the Sauganash Doodle Romp still take place monthly?

Don't know anything about a Sauganash romp however there is a monthly romp in Lake County. That is the only Chicago area one I know of though Sauganash would be so
much closer!

Last Saturday of the month--even numbered months; Last Sunday of the month --odd numbered months. 10:30 a.m., Lakewood Dog Park, Wauconda, Illinois (Rt. 176 and Fairfield Road) [e-mail].

The only fee is the parking if you are NOT a Lake County resident $10 the lot is small so sometimes you have to wait for parking-we usually go in the Fall and Winter as right now it is TOO hot, however the park is gorgeous, I believe it is 40 acres and all off leash, great trails and wide open spaces for the doods to run!

And a $5 fee if you are a Lake County resident, unless you buy a season pass. :)

A few times. I love the Lake County Forest preserve parks, although I prefer Libertyville.

But Jack is not really a "romper", lol. He only wants to play ball, he ignores other dogs, and I really like to walk the trails. So we usually just go ourselves. And getting up to Wauconda with poop bags, backpacks, water bottles, water bowls, etc. by10:30 on a weekend morning is challenging for me, lol.

Is there a Chicago romp? I've recently gotten very wary of dog parks and the like (there are a lot of aggressive dogs in my neighborhood and I've had several scary experiences), but I'd loved a "vetted" group of owners to let my dog play with.
