Mainly after I feed him or he has water Schulz will get hiccups. At first we thought something was wrong with him but realized what they were. This happens often. Should I be worried? Someone said it is because he is so tall now and his food and water are on the floor. However this happened when he was a tiny little guy too. Just wondering if any others have this happen and if it is normal.

My doodles don't get hiccups too often (they did more when they were little puppies).  However, I used to have a pug who got the hiccups about once a day.......it never developed into a problem for her.  She was a happy and healthy girl.  =)

Jack used to get hiccups when he was a puppy.  He is a big guy and just turned 5.  He eventually outgrew them after a year

How old is Schulz now? Sadie stopped getting the hiccups at about 7 months, but before that she got them pretty much every day. I thought it was cute.

Daisy got the hiccups until she was about 1, after that never.

My dad use to tell me when I got the hiccups it was because I was growing so fast...maybe it's true.

Sasha or Oliver never had hiccups but I have their feeding bowls off the floor on a stand, maybe you should try that.  A few friends of mine with dogs had problems with vomiting after eating, when they raised the bowls the problem went away.  Try elevating the bowls on a box or something before you invest in a stand.

Casey doesn't get the hiccups often but it is a good idea to have the food and water at their hight. It is better for digestion. Try elevating the bowls.

Like others, Gavin used to get the hiccups all the time but they went away after he was a year old.

The hiccups are usually caused by taking in too much air when eating or drinking. If Schulz is a dog who "inhales" his food, maybe you could slow down his eating? You can do that by placing a round object in the center of his bowl, so he has to eat around it, and there are even specially made bowls designed for that purpose.

Riley had hiccups a lot up to six months and I was as bit worried but it seems it's perfectly normal so I don't think you need to worry.

Luna used to get hiccups ALL the time when she was a puppy.

She still gets them on occasion and gives me the "mom not again, help me!" look.
