Is there an easy way to search Discussions?

 

I often want to search something and the search page just ends up showing hundreds of doodle pix with the same subject of the search. Is there an "advanced search" function, or a way to only search topic titles and/or comments?

Click the orange word "Forum" up above. Ignore the dropdown menu, just click. You will then get a page that shows recent discussions, and a search box at the top of the page. Type your search term there in the box.

It works the same way way in groups. Go to the group discussions, click "View All", and you will get a box for a search term.

A discussion in a Group won't come up when you do a Forum discussion, and vice-versa.

Thanks, this is exactly what I figured was available, but couldn't find! Never thought to NOT click on one of the drop downs!

 

fyi, Bully Sticks in search brings up TONS of doodles and their BS, and very little posts about the addictive treat!

You CAN click on the drop downs, though.  If you click on "Doodle Topics" you still get a search box above the list of discussions.  So either way as long as you look up things on a Forum page, you're good.

Try a search for Bully Sticks in the Food Group.

But I just did a search in "Doodle Topics" for "bully sticks", and i got tons of discussions, no pictures, lol:

It sounds like you're using the search function in the very top right corner of the site.  That brings up 'everything' and is useful when you aren't sure where to find something at all or want to bring up anything on the whole site that might match a term.  Otherwise if you're looking for a forum discussion...use Karen's advice =)

I have very little luck when trying to search. I get too much information to actually read but when I try, some is ok but lots of it is just a comment (tag word) in an entirely different discussion.  Obviously, I do not know how to narrow down the search.
