I just don't want to let this day pass without saying a prayer for all those who died in the attack on 9/11 and for the loved ones left behind. That date will be forever etched in our hearts and I am sure each of us can remember what we were doing that day when we first heard the news. Take a minute to do a kind deed today in honor of all of the victims of 9/11. Hug a loved one or just count your blessings! I will never understand this kind of violence and how people get to this point that hurting innocent people benefits their causes in any way.

Donna, I remember the blog you posted last year about your town and I found it so interesting because I did not know any of that information. I was at work, too, on 9/11 and remember it as if it were yesterday. Such a terrible day and so many lives lost.
Well said Laurie. We have a memorial just a few blocks away, it's at the entrance to the sports complex in town for the kids, full of baseball, football and soccer fields. We stop at it every day when we walk the dogs. In the center of the memorial is a huge piece of burnt metal from the towers. Very moving. My DH was in a plane about an hour from landing in Newark Airport when the first plane hit, a day you never forget. Thoughts and prayers to all affected.
Very nice Janie! A great picture too!
Oh, Janie, how scary to be flying that day or awaiting word of someone flying that day. I often think of those people on the planes and how many of them were headed somewhere fun and the terror they must have felt in those last moments. We drive by the PA memorial on the way to Indiana. I vow to stop there one day. Nice photo and thank you for sharing.
Thanks, William!
Thanks for the reminder Laurie. I am going to hug my favorite cop, the same one I hugged the day it all happened.
Give him a hug from me, too! Thanks, BG!
I agree with your thoughts, Laurie. Extra hugs to everyone we meet today.
Thanks, Nancy!
None of us will ever forget. I was working for the largest mutual fund complex in the country at the time. We lost colleagues and friends that day --people we had worked with at Cantor Fitzgerald. Cell phones didn't work. Although we were far away from NYC in Southeastern PA -- the plane that eventually crashed over Schwenksville -- put our whole complex into lockdown. I guess at the time, there was some fear that financial institutions were a target. We waited. It was surreal. Turned out DC was the target. The following Sunday, the choir from Trinity Church --that old church at Ground Zero-- was scheduled to sing at my church. Their music had been destroyed but they came anyhow. The whole country was still in shock but I just remember that when they sang, after all they had been through -- it seemed like their voices carried to the heavens. I don't like to go back to that day, but thank you for posting, Laurie.
