Shaved ears and tail?

Before I post a picture...which may be a long time because I can't bring myself to take one......does anyone have a picture of a doodle with SHAVED ears and tail???????

I can beat any groomer horror story you've got....promise!  I am so angry I can't begin to put into words what I am feeling without using numerous expletives.  Murphy had some matting on his tail and coat.  He swims quite a bit and they get worse everytime he gets in the water.  He went to the groomer today and I knew she would need to do some repair work on the ears and take his tail down very short.  I was worried about the tail but had accepted it.  I went to pick him up and he is cut exactly like a Schnauzer.  She shaved his ears and tail along with the rest of his body.  Not only are they shaved they are all choppy with some long pieces here and there.  It is the most awful thing I have ever seen.

Did I mention that my sweet Murphy now has SHAVED EARS and Tail??????

All I can do is cry.

I don't want to post a picture because it is so awful.......everyone here is so supportive and I know you would feel like being kind but it is impossible.  There is no way this can be fixed and there isn't a liar on the earth good enough to be kind about it.

I have never seen a doodle with shaved ears....have you?  Anyone?  Got a picture?

I am going to go back to crying and drinking now.

He is really short but he looks a lot better than I expected. He's still cute. The hair grows fast. I hope you didn't give the groomer a tip. lol

Cut off the beard and poof! It will grow back more evenly and he will look like a doodle!! I am so sorry!

This wasn't as nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  He is cute.  I agree on the choppy, part, though.  And I would cut his beard just a bit, but I think his head looks cute, shaved ears and all.  The hair on Rua's ears is not at all poodley...she has retreiver ears and tail, so I am used to thin-looking ears.

 

I would join you in a glass of wine, but since it isn't quite 8am (I HAVE TODAY OFF...YEAH), I will sip coffee.

Thanks Dori! Enjoy your day off!  Since I have to work and can't drink today maybe when you feel it is a socially acceptable time (10 a.m. maybe?) you can have a little wine for me and Murphy :)

Ronna, I'm so sorry, but everyone is right it will grow back, but I would trim up his face a bit more to make him more balanced. I know how you are feeling and that's why I now groom Quincy myself, he not perfect but he's no worse than some groomers have done. If a groomer had ever done this to Quincy, I wouldn't pay because I'd be needing the money for my lawyer right after I punched them. Murphy is still adorable you couldn't make him any other way no matter what his haircut looks like. You might have to take the plunge and start grooming him yourself. If you keep drinking for a couple of weeks you might not care what he looks like.  :>) There is a bright side, he can get wet and swim as much as he wants and you won't have to worry about mats.

Thank you Tina, Donna and Lucy and Sophie's mom.  I think you're right about taking the beard down....sure can't be any worse!   Donna, I sense that you know exactly how I am feeling..lol...thank goodness I work with 200 lawyers so at least I don't need the....are you ready?????  FIFTY-FIVE DOLLARS....excuse me...I need to go pour another glass of wine.

There is no possible way I could groom him myself.  He hates being brushed or combed and he fights me every step which is why he gets so matted in the first place.  Dood #2 is getting brushed every single day from the minute he comes home no matter what.  I can't have two of them looking like this.

I think Murphy is out of the running for Mr. February this year!  I don't even think he could make the Shnauzer calender.  sigh.

He's still the cutest puppy ever even when he's ugly...look at his little eyes :)  I'll post another pic once we get the beard taken down and some of the choppy evened out.

Ronna, I am sorry you feel so bad. I am not going to tell you it will grow, because you are probably too drunk right now for that to make any sense :) Yes, Murphy does not look very doodley right now and might be having a bad hair day, but he is still your Murphy. I would shave Vern and Fudge in solidarity, but luckily I don't own any grooming stuff. Murphy, we still love you and think you will look great again in no time. Ronna, I hope you sober up and feel better tomorrow :)

The good news is that nobody told Murphy he looks bad....he just thinks momma's drunk.  Well ,actually I have seen Beasley (the cat) walk up to him and point her finger and laugh several times :)
