My puppy started shedding her baby fuzz at 14 weeks. Did your puppy do the same? If so, what age did it start and end?

I keep hearing about this. I don't remeber this with my poodle or lhasa apso. Does the fur texture change? I'm hoping my non-shedding labradoodle doesn't become a shedding adult.

Our puppy is now 5 1/2 months old. When he was 14 weeks old I would find a little fuzz ball on the floor. His coat is VERY thick, like wool, not curly but wavy. Now if I am wearing black, I notice a little dog hair on my clothes. I was hoping this was just his puppy coat, but I think we may have a light shedder on our hands. We will have to wait and see, I guess.
Our GD shed quite a bit about 13-15 weeks. Although it has diminished now, she still sheds. Most people say that she looks more golden retriever than poodle so I don't know if that might explain it. I was told, however, that even though she sheds now it still isn't anywhere close to how much a pure GR does.
Unfortunately, Cooper started shedding around that age and hasn't really stopped. It's certainly not as bad as a Lab or Golden, or many other dogs that shed, but I will find little "fur balls" on the floors and need to vacuum 2-3x per week. We have wood floors throughout the house, so the fur kind of sticks together into little balls or "tumbleweeds" so it's more noticeable. We're also noticing more on our clothes. Cooper was One in Dec., and it seems like the older he gets, the more he sheds, but it's still not THAT bad. Also, Cooper is an F1b, so he's 3/4 Poodle--we had hoped this would further eliminate the shedding possibility, but not so in his case.
Our Cassie is 11 months old now. About a month ago we started noticing some locks or fuzz balls on the carpet. Sorry I can't answer your question - but I, too, would like to find out how long this will last... also, I see that others in this discussion are saying their dogs started shedding much earlier than Cassie. Hmmm....
My multi-gen Australian labradoodle (like 5th generation) started shedding at about 12 week. She still sheds at almost 8 months. I haven't seen her puppy coat fall out yet. My breeder swears she isn't going to shed, but I am doubtful that this is the case. I also have to vacumn my rugs at least 1x per week and sometimes 2X. When people say to me, "Oh, your dog doesn't shed." I find myself answering, "Yes, she does, but only a little bit."
We need to remember, too, that this breed is not "guaranteed" to be shed-free--the odds are just stacked in favor of them being that way. Compared with most dogs, our Doodle is a very minimal shedder, but definitely not shed-free. Knowing what I now know about him, even if he were to be a big shedder, I'd still be overjoyed to have him. These are amazing pups in so many ways!
My youngest Australian labradoodle shed at 12 weeks until I had him shaved down at one year. It was more like fuzzy fur that got pulled out by his doodle brother during their romps. I never found hair on me, but I found little tufts of fur lying around. I also found it when I brushed him. I thought I was going to have a shedder, but at a year old I had him shaved down because of matting. HE NO LONGER SHEDS! It was as if the extreme clip got rid of all the puppy fur. He is now a year and 3 months, and we have been shed free for the last 3 months!
Mine is just starting to shed tiny fuzz balls (kind of like dust bunnies). He is 3 months old so, I'm assuming this is the beginning of the puppy shed. However, he still doesn't seem to have shedding type fur. I guess time will tell.

Spud is an F1b--who is supposed to be virtually no shedding. I have seen little balls of fur on rare occasions, but when he is brushed there is lots of hair left on the bristles. I just blame is on the cats when I see fur
Do you seem to have any shedding on your black clothes from Spud?
Yes, us too, lots and lots of hair on the brush! I think there is more shedding going on than we realize and it just sort of lays there and then matts up. We have to brush frequently! It certainly is not enough to notice around the house, or on my clothes or hands, but I was surprised once she let me brush her more how much came out ...
