Zoey sure is a cutie pie. Doesn't look woolen to me, more shaggy. One good thing about the shedders is they are easier to groom with less matting. She may well be a shedder, if she is shedding now then that's a good guess. She is lovely whatever. Neither of mine shed but I am non stop grooming and trimming. lol
"Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get" Well something like that from Forest Gump. :)
I wish my dog was a shedder. I've had a golden and a lab, but holy cow my Monty doesnt shed, he MATS!
Midas sheds..AND mats! lol.. how weird??
I'm kind of glad Luna sheds... no brushing or combing because her hair is straight and short :)
Pick your poison, as they say. Gavin sheds lightly and it is much easier to groom him and keep his coat in good shape.
She might, but she might also continue to shed. You won't really know until she's about a year old and her puppy coat is (mostly) done changing.
Luna sheds moderately throughout the year but sheds like CRAZY during Spring/Fall (she grows a fluffy Winter coat every year).
Gavin did not shed in an obvious way, but I was always able to get plenty of hair in the brush and find little tumble weeds (doodle bunnies) around the house. I still can get hair in the brush, but don't find the doodle bunnies anymore. But...it just depends in the combination of genes. Your actual results will vary.
Finnley used to shed until around 6 months of age and I had her professionally groomed. I think that is when most all of her puppy fur was removed and she didn't shed anymore after that.
Stanlee has a "hair" coat and sheds all - day - long. It is not an exaggeration when I say I can sweep the floor, get the huge pile of hair swept up and into the garbage, turn around to put the broom and dust pan away and literally see more balls of hair floating above the ground like an Ice Capades Show is going on in my kitchen.
Bayley is truly curly, and doesn't shed at all, but as others have said, the result is that she mats. I really like the look of a shaggy dog, but we have to keep her clipped closer that I would like too, just to keep some sanity in the house. She's my first doodle, and is now 16 months, I haven't detected any noticeable coat change in her.
