Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
I didn't realize how much fun we would have with a goldendoodle! Callie is now 8 months old and we love her to bits. She would be perfect (in my world) if she didn't shed. I knew we had a 50/50 chance...and we got the retriever lol. I have been told that when they hit the year mark and their coat is all adult fur etc that the shedding is less. Any truth to that? Don't get me wrong - wouldn't trade her for the world :)

I have no idea for your question. I cant predict the future but she is just a tickle of cuteness! Wow
Oh My Doodle! What a cutie pie! Shedding will not necessarily get less. But cuteness won't either. ;o)
She is adorable! I love the crazy hair look!
I didn't have Jack as a puppy, I adopted him at 14 months, but I can tell you that his "all adult" coat sheds very, very heavily, year round. I can't imagine how he could possibly have shed more at 8 months than he does now.
I would not expect that Callie is going to shed less than she does now after she is a year old. I guess anything is possible, but it's not likely, IMO.
Maybe yes, maybe no. Every single doodle seems to be different. We had two from the same liter and one shed like crazy and the other not at all. Our AnnaBelle whose coat looks very similar to you little one went through a phase from maybe 8-12 or 13 months where she shed more than any other time. She always did, and still does a little bit, but during that major coat change she shed a lot. I think the Doodle motto should be "you get what you get and you love what you got". That pretty much sums it up.
We did have a doodle that shed profusely from 4 months to about 8 months, then not at all. It could have been caused by a combination of sorts. She was extremely stressed early in life.
At one year, she completely stopped. Again, there really is not answer to your question.
