I am a Girl Guide leader here in Saskatchewan Canada, and over 6 months ago many of our leaders became aware of one of our own sick little girls in Regina, Sk. that had a wish. Please view link for information or comment and I can try to help. Basically she wishes to travel but can't and loves rainbows so they came up with the idea of Maranda's Rainbow Connection where they would have others from all over the world send rainbows to her. There is an address on this link or comment and I can post it.

I don't know if there are any other Girl Guide/Girl Scout leaders on this site but I would love to connect with them if there are. I doesn't really matter though anyone can send this little girl some love. I thank everyone in advance.

Thanks, it is ongoing think they started in around September. She has been on local news and in the papers many times. The facebook site has journal entry's from her mom as to how she is doing and pictures, maybe even links to some of the news footage.
Thanks for posting this, I'll be sending Maranda a rainbow, too!
I know I have rainbow photos from our Doodle Cruise...I'll be sending one to Maranda.
I am going to forward this to my DD, because I know she has some rainbow photos. Thanks for sharing.
What a wonderful idea for a tragic circumstance. I will see what I can come up with.
I have a photo of a double rainbow taken out my backdoor and will try and find it. I've also forwarded this info to my Niece who is a Girl Scout Troop Leader here in the US and told her I thought this would be a great thing for her troop to do.
For all you teachers out there, this would be a nice project for your classes. A rainbow is really easy to paint or draw, even for a very young child. And it would be teaching them some valuable lessons, I think.
kids really like doing this, and what a great way to teach them at such a young age how easy it can be to help someone. Just a simple thought, or hello can warm someone's day. We need to instil generosity at a young age. You are never to busy to care!
What a lovely idea for a sick little girl. Great suggestions for teachers and other scout troops or groups. There is a book called Rainbow Goblins - it is a very odd book, yet kids seem to love it. I think it is out of print but I will see if I can find a copy to send. YAY! I FOUND IT and had Amazon send it directly to the address. She may not know that it came from California, but I am sure it doesn't really matter.
That will be an awesome gift, and she will love it I'm sure. I can't believe the generosity here on DK, okay I actually can. In such a short time so many of you have warmed my hearts with your stories of generosity. Glad to be a part of the group. Thanks everyone!
Can't tell you all how much I appreciate everyone taking a minute to read and react to this request. I am so glad I happened across this website and all of you wonderful people who also belong. I look forward to many years of raising our puppies together. THANKS!!!
