an axe- a very sharp axe that was just honed...DH was holding it by his side and Quincy came from behind him either walked or ran into the blade and cut his lip. Yikes. The DH is not good with blood and came running in yelling my name with blood all over his hand. I thought he finally chopped his hand off (he chops wood for fire) but then he said it was Quincy-who I could not see as he was behind him and hidden. So then I figured he chopped Quincy's something off..but he always makes Quincy go inside when he chops, he was just putting the axe away. Turns out Quincy's lip is cut and bleeding. Some pressure and ice and it stopped. He seems fine. It's hard to get him to let me look, but it seems superficial and has totally stopped bleeding. Drama for the day.

So glad he is all right. Fluke accidents happen-another reason for pet insurance. DH must have been a wreck.
He was, he felt so guilty. He is so careful when he chops wood. He was only putting the ax away after the guy had been to the house to sharpen it. Plus it scared him! He felt Quincy hit the ax and then Quincy ran away, scared I guess, and would not come to him when he called. Then there was all the blood, facial cuts bleed disproportionately, and we could not see where because of his dark fur. It was a fluke all right!
omg, I totally thought you were going to tell a joke when I opened this post! I'm glad that Quincy is okay.
