I am working on getting a brother or sister..or at least having our home rescue ready? notice the questions I am forced to answer...ABOVE)
not unreasonable I might add. He (DH) does add that it would have to be a rescue (he pays attention). i recently found out that we are not totally excluded from a rescue since we don't have a physical fence. we have to inquire further since we do rely on our electric fence somewhat....whatever....WHEN WE RETIRE we will be home and will be rescue ready....
Any one else in this "holding pattern" ?

I can't even figure out how you walk two if it's not raining and you have both hands free, lol.
I'm so glad you want to adopt a rescue dog. :)
I wrap the leash around my waist ( Loop through the handle part ) and have each one of them at both of my sides. Hands free!!
This would be my response too Kyoko.
They make connectors that goes from one dog to the other's collar. The one leash gets clipped in the middle and you only have one leash to hold. I have used it when I lived with my parents and walked their two dogs.
My answer is that they exercise themselves enough so that I NEVER feel an ounce of guilt over not going on walks in rain, snow, cold, HOT.
Love this answer!
Walking two dogs is easy for me. I usually don't walk them in bad weather since they are free to run around outside if they want to. That said I generally hold the leashes in one hand so I could hold an umbrella if need be.
I may sound like a "broken record", but I think training is the key. I've had to walk both dogs all the time since my DH had his knee replacement surgery, but because they're both good with loose leash walking it really isn't that difficult.
Thank you for addressing this, Joanne. That would be the issue for me, not just walking two dogs but walking two dogs properly.
