Theo had his neutering done today and poor Baby Bear isn't handling it well at all! My pet sitter is also the vet tech so she was the one that handled all the surgery stuff and the anesthesia. She said he did really well in surgery and she kept the anesthesia very light so when they were done and taking the tubes out he was already waking up. I went to visit him at lunch to find his face bright silver. They spray him underneath to see if he is licking-he was :(. so I came back at 2:30 to pick him up and she said he was good to go and seemed to have quit the licking.
When we got home though he became obsessed with it to the point where it began bleeding! So off we went back to the vet to get more glue put on to hold the incision together and a Cone of Shame :(
Well-the only cone they had would have fit a St. Bernard, so they found this BiteNot collar that he came back home with. He just isn't a happy boy :(
I gave him a tiny bit of Benadryl-they said it was okay, to help him relax and rest and it seems to have taken effect, or he is just exhausted.
Nothing is ever easy...

wow--smart comes in handy when training, but then at times like this, smart is not so good---I hope tomorrow is a better day. My Rio was 2 when neutered, had a tiny incision with stitches and never touched it once I told him not to--he is not the smartest doodle on the block, but it was easier!
What a sweetheart Hattie is:)
I hope that you find Theo greatly improved today. Maybe one day with the cone will help the healing speed forward. So much worry and stress. Kona is wearing a cone but as a six year old he is just depressed about it. He hasn't tried to get it off in any way. Theo's antics are pure puppy and you have to love that clever boy!
The Cone Club in Doodletown. ;o)
Glad to hear that things are improving with Theo!!
Hattie Bear, you have won my heart for the way you've taken care of your little brother. Hugs to all of you and hoping Theo is improving. In Doodletown, everyone would be so busy signing his cone, a little doodle boy wouldn't have time to take it off!
Sandy, I was wondering how Theo is doing this Sunday evening? Sure hoping he's back to his normal self or at least very close to normal.
I'm so glad to hear this Sandy!!!
Shea wore the cone and we all had bruises on our thighes and shins. Poor Mya,he scooped her up at at patio door. Glad all of the stuff is over. Good luck...
