Sophie's Summer Cut

I have lamented several times on DK about my difficulties in finding a good groomer for Sophie.  We tried a new one today for her summer cut.  I was pleased with the results. I feel she listened to my description and tried to accomplish it.  Plus the icing on the cake - the price - $65.  Very reasonable.  I really prefer Sophie's coat long and shaggy but the temps are heating up in KY and I want her to be comfy.  I have attached a before and after.  Please give us some honest feedback.  It will help me tweak the next cut.  The only area I don't like is her "bangs".  A little two "visor-ish" straight across. If anyone needs a groomer in the Lexington, Ky area I will share her info.

I think it is a great job. Calla gets the visor look and I just use thinning shears if need be, then all is well.

Awe, she's cute! My first thought was thinning shears as well. Could you please send some of that warm weather north? ;-)

She looks cute!  The texture of her fur looks very similar to my Eloise's.  She got her summer cut a couple weeks ago.  I find myself snipping all around her head after she comes back from the groomer...I always have to tweak the shape myself, lol.

Looks great! When I took Lily to the groomers I always needed to trim the "visor" between cuts.

Adorable!! A great summer cut.  I sometimes use thinning shears and tweak in between cuts :)

Sounds like we are all in agreement. Thinning shears on her bangs will help her look more doodle-ish. I'm always tweaking yogi's facial fur. I think she looks great though

I think he looks great too.  And I am sure within 2 weeks his face will fill out and look less "groomed".  With my Cockapoo I always tell our groomer I want the "puppy" look or more of a longer "west highland terrier"  face.  As long as Farley is not too matted she does a great job.  It took me about 4 different people to find the one.   And now that I have found the right one, his haircuts seem to get better and better.   I think once you stick to one person you start to build a relationship with them and they start to learn what works and what doesn't.

I am glad to see this post, I have decided to get Polly cut back as well.  I like the look on yours but I would want the eyebrows different as well.  Do you have any idea what size clipper was used on yours?  I like that look and would not want Polly's any shorter.
