Standard poodle/doodle on Petfinder dropped off yesterday, to be euthanized 2/18

I saw this a few minutes ago and wondered if someone knew who to contact or if IDOG or DRC are already working to get him out?

This is horrible and shocking, but I can get at least some peace from knowing that this beautiful boy at least had a DRC volunteer with him at the end, and his suffering was ended in a humane way.  Thank heavens he did not have to endure the final torture of the heart=stick euthanasia.  Karen, my heart also goes out to you, and Jacquie, and the wonderful volunteer who went to rescue this guy.  I know what this feels like to you who dedicate your whole lives to saving these dogs.  I also know that this tragedy is breaking your heart.  Thank you for all you do in the name of our precious Doodles.

And to Liz, who acted with lightning speed to get him out of there, and who had to make the heartbreaking decisions.

Thank you, Jane. Yes, it's a very very sad night.

Shock doesn't begin to describe my feelings.  Thanks for the update and thanks to DRC for doing the right thing and helping end his suffering.

I am going to name him "Little Man"

No one will ever know if Little Man had someone wonderful that he was close to prior to him ending up at the shelter, we can only pray he did.

Little Man - we may not have ever met but you will always have a place in our hearts. You do have family here in Doodle Kisses and The Doodle Rescue Collective and we love you!

Rest in Peace, Little Man.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm crying and dh is ready to kick somebodys a@@s for doing this to a beautiful animial.  Sorry for being blunt but my heart is so sad.
Kathy and I have been crying so hard after reading Adrianne's and Karen's notes.  Olivia is now licking our tears away.  If Olivia knew why we are crying she would be crying too!  Sydney just came to find out why we are so sad.  We were just talking after opening the discussion (before we noticed Karen's sad news......"can we manage a third Doodle?"  Oh, if we could, we would want one of these beautiful Rescue Doodles.
I thought they named him Moses. Either way, this is heart wrenching. It makes me feel guilty about buying a dog from a breeder when so many dogs are in need of rescuing.
It's more that people should feel guilty for buying a dog from a breeder who would allow one of her dogs to end up like this. Breeders who care about the dogs they bring into this world are careful about where they the allow them to go, and always, always, take them back at any point in their lives.
AMEN!!!

This is so sad.

I had already envisioned such a great future for this guy...possible with someone on DK.

I cannot believe that a shelter could photograph him and put him on petfinder but not see that he was so injured.  I guess if there is no money to do anything about it, why look.

I started a "What makes me the most angry..." sentence, but I really cannot begin to narrow it down and wouldn't know when to stop. Ultimately, I am more angered by the story of the standard poodle Bill, also on petfinder, a byb parent rescue.  Is it so f'in hard to regularly clip a poodle you are using for breeding?  Forget fresh air, socialization, proper nutrition, space to move in...how about just a haircut every 2-3 months?

Makes me want to cry and rip someone's you know whats off.  (eek, sorry, adina)

We are getting records and  a statement from the wonderful vets who treated Moses today and we will be filing a report with local animal welfare authorities.
That is wonderful to hear.  Thank you and everyone who is working to help these dogs and to punish people who harm them actively or with their indifference.
