Summer trips with doodles

We took our doodles with us to Lake Tahoe last weekend for a reunion of "old" friends.  They enjoyed it so much and especially the hike from Spooner Lake to Marlette Lake (start of the Flume Bike Trail).  We were just hiking this time and they were on their best behavior.  It was in the 70s at Lake Tahoe, 90s in the Central Valley, and the cool 60s when we arrived back home in Monterey County.  Great trip.

Looks lovely and the dogs look so happy. I like Kara would love to know where you stayed if it is a dog friendly place. Time to get my guy hiking and a bit of cooler weather would be lovely for him and us :-)

Great pictures Lynda and Tahoe is so beautiful no matter what time of the year you go!  Your Doodles look like they had a great time.  They are so beautiful and their coats are gorgeous!

Kara and Janice - We stayed at a friend's cabin that they rent out and has "No Pets" signs posted, but we have known them for years, so we can bring our doodles.  Actually, we have done lots of biking and skiing up there and we will take the dogs to a doggie day care for a day while we are on a bike or ski trip.  They have a lot of fun.  There is a place right on the main street in Kings Beach.  Probably other dog friendly places up there, but where people go wrong is in leaving their dogs in cabins or rooms while they go out for a day.  Our dogs are always with us, but following a bike is too hard on them at that altitude.  They enjoyed hiking and exploring with us however.  And Livermore, yes, you need to get out of the heat.
