Aside from the fact that my team won (sorry OH) I wanted to comment on the commercials. This year there were some really good ones - E-Trade baby was okay, loved the Taco Bell ad, Doritos, well they did it again. I did not like the Mercedes Ad, I too thought it was a little risque as well as all the skin on the stage with Beyonce (I must be getting old), hands down though, the best ad for me was the Budweiser ad with the Clydesdale...it warmed my heart.

What did you guys think?

I didn't watch a bit of it. Aside from the fact that I had other plans, I think all this Chronic traumatic encephalopathy has mad these contact sports something I can't even passively, minimally condone.

F is it your daily goal to use big words that people have to look up?  :)

There is a lesson in everything she says these days - ha ha

But I feel like I need to get one of those Word a Day calendars just to keep up.  My vocabulary seems to be really lacking.  Although, I can throw tax terms around like it is nobody's business lol but that isn't much fun.

Nope. This has been on TV and in the newspapers a lot lately and all mothers, fathers and just about everyone should take notice of it. Check out the link, which I included for a reason. I seriously think we all should be concerned.

I watched the commercials on You Tube - the game, I watched a little because of course DH was watching. I threw Daisy's inside Frisbee through most of it.

I didn't either. But I did watch an awesome episode from "Wonders of Life", a BBC documentary series that is one of my favorites.

Yay Camilla!!

Gonna have to check that one out Camilla. I can't wait for tonight when we watch Downton Abbey. We always make it a Monday evening watch.

F. this is something that, NOW, I am very concerned about.  We didn't want to raise couch potatoes and truly feel sports activities have such positives for teaching  ethics, group and personal dynamics, goal setting, etc.,  that we had our kids in sports in a big way.  But I now worry about the brain damage they most likely suffered and what might happen as they age.

I'm so glad to hear that I must not be getting old, because I absolutely loved the Mercedes commercial. I thought it was a very clever concept, and of course, Willem Dafoe could get me to sign on the dotted line any time, lol.

I also thought Beyonce looked absolutely stunning, and didn't think there was too much skin at all. I thought her costume(and those of the other performers on the stage with her) was beautiful and very flattering. You see a lot more than that on any beach or at any pool, and not on people who have anything that deserves to be shown off, lol.

I was listening more than watching, so I didn't see most of the commercials, but i was happy because I was rooting for the Ravens as well.

I do think one of us is getting old, though, kiddo, because OH didn't have a team in the game, lol. So one of us is confused. :-)

.

I don't know Karen I thought women were very "objectified" both on stage and in the ad. I think Beyonce is very talented though so all that is not necessary. Maybe it was the moves they were doing that I don't like because you are right, you see more on the beach but they aren't thrusting their hips there.
