Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum
Does anyone else have a talk-a-doodle? My ALD talks constantly and my labradoodle did the same. The goldendoodle never talks. It is not growling or barking, it is more like mumbling. Whenever he sees something that he wants to comment about, he starts this mumbling and it sounds more like gargling with marbles in his mouth than anything else. Is this a labradoodle trait?

I don't know about mumbling, but Monty is very expressive in his sounds. High pitched barks, or just various sounds when he demands attention. Auggie does none of that. They are both goldendoodles. I think it must depend on how excitable they are. Monty is very emotional.
Myla is a goldendoodle and talks constantly! It's like a long "yawning" with different tones. It's hilarious!
Zoe does this too! especially when she is excited to be somewhere, excited to see someone, wants something, or just plain excited. it sounds like a high squeal/murmur. its really funny!
LOL Becka!
Finnley always tells me what is on her mind. She often get on my bed, and then woofs and almost sounds like the way a Husky talks. That is telling me to get on the bed to play with her, or love her up. She does a different bark for playing and still another for going outside. If I hear anything in between, I always go and check because she doesn't waste her barking or talking on nothing. There is always a reason. Oh and Finnley is a goldendoodle.
Lucy is a barker ... different barks mean diffferent thing. One bark at back door means she wants out. Another louder bark at the back door means you are not moving towards the back door quickly enough to suit her. Like 3 barks when she and AnnaBelle are playing and she wants something AnnaBelle has. Continuous loud excited barking is the doorbell and continuous barking on the sofa is the trash man is here. AnnaBelle on the other hand is very vocal. She has a little tiny Grrr when she is in her grate and wants out. She has a Woof (not a bark) when she wants out to potty and no one sees her. Then she just has other little sounds that I can't even describe. She also has the head tilt thing going on when you are talking to her..
Clancy, who we think is a goldendoodle, talks a lot. He talks to his toys as he plays with them and mumbles and 'growls' at people and situations.
