Thank you Karen....I missed that. I'm hoping it does not happen but I guess I will have to have a back up plan.
Let's hope this doesn't happen.
I received an e-mail reply to my request for information about a possible sell-out.
Hi Nancy,
Thank you for your email, we appreciate you taking the time to write in.
While we have certainly seen the speculation in media reports about Champion Petfoods’ future, we hope you can appreciate that it is our policy to never comment on rumours or speculation in the market. Rumours about Champion being sold have been circulating over the past few years and will continue for as long we deliver on our promise to make the world’s best pet food under our ACANA and ORIJEN brands.
Champion Petfoods continues to be privately held with investment from our Canadian partner, Bedford Capital, and our vision remains—build trust with Pet Lovers everywhere. We are focused every day on delivering on our commitment to provide our customers with the world’s best pet food and the highest quality service.
Kind Regards,
Ruth

So they basically told you nothing, lol.
Exactly! (Which is kind of scary). We pay so much for each bag of what we’ve considered the highest quality kibble and to think it might be sold is so disheartening.
The thing is, it IS the highest quality food on the market right now.
With all the crazy talk about peas and legumes, and the "experts" advising us to find foods that don't contain poatoes or legumes in the first five ingredients, and to find foods with lots of animal proteins high on the ingredient list, take a look at Orijen Original's ingredients:
Fresh chicken meat (13%), fresh turkey meat (7%), fresh whole eggs (7%), fresh chicken liver (6%), fresh whole herring (6%), fresh whole flounder (5%), fresh turkey liver (5%), fresh chicken necks (4%), fresh chicken heart (4%), fresh turkey heart (4%), chicken (dehydrated, 4%), turkey (dehydrated, 4%), whole mackerel (dehydrated, 4%), whole sardine (dehydrated, 4%), whole herring (dehydrated, 4%), whole red lentils, whole green lentils, whole green peas, lentil fiber, whole chickpeas, whole yellow peas, whole pinto beans, whole navy beans, herring oil (1%), chicken fat (1%), chicken cartilage (1%), chicken liver (freeze-dried), turkey liver (freeze-dried), fresh whole pumpkin, fresh whole butternut squash, fresh whole zucchini, fresh whole parsnips, fresh carrots, fresh whole red delicious apples, fresh whole bartlett pears, fresh kale, fresh spinach, fresh beet greens, fresh turnip greens, brown kelp, whole cranberries, whole blueberries, whole saskatoon berries, chicory root, turmeric root, milk thistle, burdock root, lavender, marshmallow root, rosehips, enterococcus faecium.
I mean, you've got animal proteins as the first 15 ingredients in the food. !!!
Legumes don;t show up until number 16. No potatoes, no grains.
What other food matches this?
It will break my heart if they sell out.
It would break my heart and I would switch to a different brand immediately, simply in protest. We are still traveling and realized that Skip (blame him cuz HE was reminded) forget the extra bag of Original Orijen. We were lucky to find a local dealer (in the past we that wasn't the case) BUT they don't carry the Original flavor (really???) so we had to purchase Senior. In looking at the ingredients, it will be just fine as it pretty much has the same ingredients which is not the case for many Senior dog foods with less protein and calories.
