Teeth Brushing Brands

I searched but didn't get much info on teeth brushing for our doodles.  Sheila is getting her permanent teeth now and my vet says to be careful of the toothpastes w/ deodorants and chemicals in them.  I just picked up the tooth paste they sell in pet stores.  Now I am noticing gels, pastes and all sorts of different products for Sheila's teeth?

 

Anyone have a favorite?  How often do you brush your doodles teeth?  And I can't get her to rinse after, so she just swallows the stuff.

We try to brush Lexi's teeth at least three times a week. We buy Doggy tootpaste at Petsmart, she likes mint, and bought a human battery powered toothbrush. She does not mind it too much, I feel that it is much more effective then a dog tooth brush and her teeth are clean and white. It took a couple of times for her to adapt, but she is so good that as long as it is Barbara or me, anything goes.

I THOUGHT about that. Now I am going to get a battery powered one for Sheila. It just seems the regular toothbrush doesn't DO anything. Smart. Thanks.

At our annual health check at the vet we were advised to start brushing Chases teeth. He is only just over a year old and already has some pretty bad tartar. I had an idea that she was going to tell us to brush them! I am amazed at how quickly it built up, and he doesn't get any people food, sweet treats or anything. The vet suggested it might be genetic. He is a medium multig-gen. Our standard F1 (a year older) still has beautiful white teeth.

So, we have begun brushing both of their teeth three to four times a week - on the days I have the time! I wanted to give them a good dental chew on the days I work late and don't have time to brush them, but can't find much out there that isn't made by Pedigree or one of the other brands that I wouldn't want to feed them!!

Does anyone have suggestions for good, healthy dental chews???

Look at CET Vet Chews....we love them and they a good for the Doodles as well.

Callie loves these chews. I hate how they smell, but they give her very clean teeth!
