Can your doodle tell time? It's really weird how Tori knows exactly when it's time to wake the kids up for school, go to the bus, and when the bus is due home. She passes and barks by the steps in the morning almost to the minute of when it's time to go up and wake my son for school, and then when it's time to walk him to the bus stop, she just sits and waits by the front door (I have a pic on my page), and when it's time for BOTH of my sons to come home (at different times) she passes in front of the window seat and jumps up to watch for them to come walking down the street. Yes~ she could be watching my actions in the morning, but I'm not home in the afternoon and she's alone in our house, but my mother-in-law in her peeks at her while she does this from her apartment ( in our house)....Now - I know she's smart, but this???
The dog we had growing up knew when each of use were supposed to come home in the afternoons. My mom worked mornings which was fine with our dog, but if Mom went grocery shopping, our dog would knock over the kitchen trash. I was "allowed" to go to my job after school, but if I went out with friends after that, she'd knock over the trash in my room. If we all went out in the evening and stayed out too late, she'd knock over the outside trash, until my dad built a dog proof barricade. She was funny!
Reminds me of a poodle we had. He stayed at home all week while we were at work and at school, but on Saturday, if anyone went out without taking him, he would trash the kitchen. Never did that during the week, only on Saturday.
As a child, my dog Panda, (a black and white curly coated boy, probably a cocker/poodle, so therefore, a very early doodle from the 40's) always met me at school to walk me home for lunch, as well as after school. He was never there at reccess, but was always waiting at the gate when the school bell rang. He was an amazing dog in many ways.
Piper barks at us at 5:30pm for dinner every night. It doesn't matter if we slept in and she had breakfast late, she is having her dinner at 5:30!! There are times I am in the middle of doing something and don't realize what time it is; no worry, Piper will not let it become 5:30 without her dinner served.
