Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Today, I was minding my own business when my daughter called and left a message with my husband. She and her husband were at the Rocky Mountain Cluster Dog Show in Denver, CO. Before I tell you the message, I would like to add that this is the child I was in labor with for almost 17 hours....the daughter that my DH and I sacrificed to send to college...the daughter and son-in-law who got married just last year and who I helped plan every detail of their wedding. That being said, here is what she wanted my husband to make sure he told me...Frenchies Rule and Doodles Drool.....and then apparently, she laughed. Oh, I should mention she has a French Bulldog and is getting another one in April.  She knew I would not let that slide and when I called her back, she was still laughing. To add further insult to injury, my new SIL (who I thought loved me) said and I quote, "We are at an AKC dog show and that means no Labradoodles allowed," and then they both started laughing.  It is times like this that I ask myself, "where did I go wrong?"and understand why some animals in the wild eat their young.

A little while later, my DH and I were on our way to Target and I called her back and said that two could play this game and I had a little slogan for her....Doodles are Smart and Frenchies Fart (I apologize to the Yappy Hour girls that hate that word). I was sure that would teach her a lesson, but all she said was that it took me over an hour to come up with a pretty stupid slogan. We hadn't been off the phone two minutes and she called back to say that my SIL had a retort...Frenchies May Have Smelly Butts, but Labradoodles are still Mutts. I asked her if it was too late to get an annulment, but they couldn't hear me over their laughter. At this point, my DH got involved and quickly said, "Doodles Think and Frenchies Stink" and then I added what I felt was the piece de resistance (and I apologize in advance for the bad language, but I meant business) and said, "Doodle Owners are Cute and Classy. Frenchie Owners are big dumb assies" and then my DH and I high fived.  My SIL then asked if Fudge came up with that slogan, but I had already declared myself the winner of the dog wars in my mind. Feel free to add any other slogans.

Thanks for the apology, I do hate that word but I think it is so funny the way you said that. I was laughing out loud.. That is hysterical....I am too tired to think of anything right now but I will think about it. I will probably come up with something right after I turn my computer off and go to go to sleep.

I can't wait to chat with you again. I had so much fun... I love Yappy Hour

I had fun in Yappy Hour too.
You win I am sure!
I will tell her you said I won :)
Well there. How about A labradoodle is purpose bred, A Frenchie has a funny head : )'
Good one....I am sure she is stalking this website, so she can see all the responses. That will teach her to mess with Doodles.
OMG Laurie...we have SO much in common.  My son and his girlfriend live together.  They talked for months about getting a PUG.  Then last summer they announced that they were getting a French Bulldog.  I talked to my son severely about this as I think they are just not an attractive dog.  He told me they were CUTE and that I would love him anyway. "But doodles are sooo cute and you can get a small one that will fit into your condo" I said.  Well the puppy was born July 3rd last summer and my son was right we do love him...but we still think he is a "pan face"  as my other son calls him.  Also...he smells so bad when he "passes wind" that he can clear a room.  Here are some photos of  my grand dog "Wilfred" and one of Thomas our doodle putiing up with him.  I feel your pain!!!
Funny, one of my sons has talked about French Bulldogs too. What's with these kids.
Debbie, Our daughter is getting a brindle one in April. It looks black to me in the pictures. Wilfred is adorable. I love that face and those ears. I actually love our daughter's French Bulldog and he is just about a perfect dog. He sees us about twice a year and comes into the house like he owns the joint. Last time, he and Vern were inseparable and Fudge loves him too, even though he spends a great deal of time trying to hump her.  The only thing I hate is the shedding the little guy does, but my daughter says she prefers that over the wet faces ours get after drinking. To each his own. Plus he can be a very stinky guy with the gas :) We do have a healthy competition going about our dogs. She did a great deal of research before getting a French Bulldog and he fits in perfectly with their lifestyle. I can't wait for her to see the picture of Wilfred and I love the name.

How about : Labs plus Poodles make like easy, Frenchies snort, pass gas and are wheezy.

Very cute!!
That comment is going to kill her :)
