Hello DK members, Darwin here.

Today was super exciting! My mom rushed in the door carrying a large package and said that it was for me! I wanted to open it right away but she started complaining about lighting in our apartment and how we had to go outside. Honestly all I really paid attention to was "outside" I love outside! Once we went outside, she laid down a blanket to sit on and got out her camera. UGH, I hate when she takes out her camera! What was she thinking anyways, trying to do a photo shoot while I had a package to open. To exact my revenge, I decided to be very uncooperative and not sit still for photos. Tee hee! What I found inside was awesome!

Me and my package.

Hmmm... are those treats I smell? And the faint hint of... Doodle?

At this point, my excitement about the tissue paper, the doodle smell, and the possible treats overwhelmed me. I had to burn off a little energy by shredding the paper and bubble wrap. I mean, I'm a dog. Come on. I can't help it.

Ahem. After that was over I was able to focus. And boy am I glad I did, the box held all sorts of goodies!

Inside were postcards from MN, playing cards, a MN twins shirt fo my mom, with a matching collar for me, some yummy smelling food items that my mom said I couldn't have (I will have to beg for these later), a squeaky toy, a squeaky tennis ball, yummy treats for me... and...

The HDA trophy! It had lots of interesting smells and nose prints on it.

Then, just as I was ready to go play with my toys and eat my treats, my mom said I had to take a picture with her. WHAT? After sitting through all of those other pictures? I renewed my resolve to not look at the camera and try to get away. Usually this tactic makes her give up quicker.

The weather was on my side, it was super windy and my dad couldn't get any decent pictures of us. I made sure that if she was making a nice face, I was not in the picture, and whenever she was making a silly/weird face, I sat perfectly still. I'm clearly a genius, here are the silly looking results. These are actually the better ones... HA HA! You can even see me laughing in the last photo.

Even though my mom is annoying with her camera, she's actually pretty cool. She gives me lots of pets and treats and I am a fan of that. :-) I am going to have to say goodbye now, there is a squeaky tennis ball calling my name...

Note from Camilla: Wow, what an honor to receive the esteemed HDA award. I am so glad that in August of 2009, I went searching for an answer about Goldendoodle grooming. I stumbled across DK, and the rest is history! I have spent an outrageous amount of time on this site, and I don't regret a minute of it! I've learned so much, and made so many great friends. And a huge thanks to my adorable, goofy and sometimes naughty doodle, Darwin. I'm convinced he's the best dog on the planet, and I love him so much!

Congratulations Camilla. I think you may be right about Darwin being the best dog but he needs to meet Kona for that trophy to be decided. I love reading about Darwin whenever you post!
YAY Camilla and Darwin!!  What great photos inspite of the effort to take them!  Congratulations!
Congrats you two! Darwin tells a wonderful and funny story. Whether he thinks so or not he DOES take a lot of great pictures! I just love him. Enjoy the trophy while you have it and congrats again!!

Congratulations!

What a lovely story and what great pictures, well deserved I say, hoorah!!!

Congratulations to a wonderful duo! Darwin and Albus are such great doodles - and their moms are so awesome and informative. I am a DK newbie and this HDK thing is new to me too, but I totally get that Camilla and Caitlin are real pillars here. Thanks for being so giving of stories and experience - and raising two great doods!

Nicole

Ah, what a super nice comment Nicole.  And I agree 100 percent!
Nicole, that is really so nice of you to say. Especially because I still feel like a newbie here sometimes, I'm always learning something new. That is the best part of this site, we can all share our experiences and knowledge with each other.
Congrats!  I love the photo of Darwin laughing - it really looks like he is!  You are right, this site is awesome, and these dogs are magic.  They bring us together as friends in a way no one else can understand.  It's a doodle thing!  And it is pretty darn cool!
