Most pet adoption campaigns make us feel pity for the animals but in this one it was the dogs that did the rescuing. The Human Walking Program took dogs that were up for adoption and let them take office workers for a lunchtime walk.

what a great idea!!!!!..Maybe some of the shelters might be interested in doing this stateside...i believe this was in the UK, right?  I think it is such a great idea, and all the dogs got adopted...What more can you ask for..Thanks for sharing...

It's in Melbourne Australia.

Great reframe.  Imagine this conversation:

passerby:  "Wow, what a wonderful dog you have!"

adopter:  "Thanks, I'm a 'rescue.'"

:)

Love this idea!  What a wonderful way to raise awareness.  Thanks for sharing!

I loved that video!

Thank you Joanne. This is beyond wonderful. It made me feel like laughing and crying at the same time.

I wish I could have read those signs they had, one said something about the workers being "chained to a desk with only a mouse to play with" or something like that.

And there was another one that alluded to the workers being caged in a pen for hours on end...very clever!

Those signs were priceless!
So true. I have a whole new outlook on what dogs must be thinking when we leave them to go to work.
Just maybe they look sad, not because of their loneliness but because they feel bad we are caged and chained 9 hours a day.

Oh this is so cool....

Good idea!
