The trial of the century

Nobody has mentioned this but is anyone else trial watchers on DK.

My husband and I have been those people that can barely tear ourselves away from the trial. Now that we are in the Jury deliberations it is winding down.

I won't say exactly how I feel about all of this but I can say my heart is broken whenever I look at that beautiful little girl and I can't imagine what that family must be going through.

Does anyone else want to weigh in?

I have the CNN app..  They seem to have breaking news constantly..   I also watched, live from my phone the verdict!  Amazing,  No, not the verdict, the app.

I live in FL (MI on vacation at the moment) and up till the last few days watched the trial (no cable or hardly no internet here) - very big in FL naturally.  I do not believe that they proved pre-meditation although I think she did plan ahead.  This young woman did not want the life of being tied down to motherhood but was too jealous to give the baby to her parents.  She has shown no remorse, only cries when it concerns herself.  She threw that baby out like rotten meat to bake in the FL heat.  She should get the death penalty but I'd rather she rot in jail for the next 60 yrs.  No matter what the jury gives her - her punishment lies beyond this life.

Jane -- What surprised me is that if you are in South FL and are getting this case big time, how did they ever find jurors in Tampa/Clearwater (only 1 hour away) that had not been following the case or were not familiar with it.  Are there seriously people who do not watch News, Internet News, read a Newspaper or see the magazines at the checkout stands.  I'm seriously thinking those 7 women on the jury WANTED on the jury ...... they knew all about the case.  There are some really strong feelings out there (even before the trial) if you watch any of the live blogs going on.  On Orlando websites this was top story news almost every day for 3 years.  How could it not be only 1 hour away.  We shall see.

I have to agree 100% with you Jane!!!  My husband and I are heartsick every time they show that precious little girl on TV.  What a heart breaker she was.  Any mother who lost their daughter would be fighting mad and broken hearted.  I don't see any of that in the mother.  Anyone who can sit there as stoic as she does has to be quilty!!!

OK-I watched a ton of it yesterday and early this morning, I'm hooked because I'm hearing all these crazy things that I was not aware of. So I'm guilty-we used the DVR and are now going through what we missed. I do not have enough opinion for the death penalty but she deserves to sit in jail for life. I totally couldn't be on that jury either! I have no clue what the turn out will be, but also want to catch it live. My mother in law will always watch these but refuses to watch this one because of the little girl and that they keep showing her picture on the bottom of the screen.

I think she is a spoiled, brat who has cried and whined to get her way for her whole life - and it worked until now.  I think she is guilty.

I agree!  But DH did call it right, he said the defense put up a lot of reasonable doubt, and he is not easily swayed.  He still agrees she is guilty though.

DH is an attorney who thinks prosecution messed up the case and that the defense attorneys planted the seed of doubt. He says jury will be hung.  I tend to agree....

I am surprised at the verdict.  She is lucky that I wasn't on the jury. Now we will never know for sure what happened to that precious, innocent little girl.  Dolce vita!
